  • The Footblock is located at the bottom of the Head and holds the selected Cartridge for cutting or applying details to matboard.

  • The Blade Cartridge is inserted into the Footblock of the Head for cutting or applying details to matboard.

  • The Head is attached to the Head Grabber Arm on the Gantry which moves the Head vertically using the Gantry Vertical Belt.

  • The Gantry moves Horizontally across the Board via the Drive Belt, and the Head moves Vertically along the Gantry via the Vertical Belt.

  • The Gantry, which contains the Head, is a vertical spanning framework connected to the Board which moves horizontally by means of the Drive Belt.

  • As the Gantry moves horizontally across the Board, the Head moves vertically on the Gantry and the Footblock rotates to apply the Cartridge to the matboard.

  • The Head Drop of the Head is controlled by the Air Valve Assembly located in the Gantry and the ECU/Driver Pack signals.

Troubleshooting:

  • If the Footblock is not Plunging:

    • Check the Air Compressor and make sure it is on.

    • Check the Air Lines to make sure they are not kinked.

    • Check the ECU/Driver Pack connections into the back of the Control Panel, Gantry and the Computer and make sure they are plugged in tight.

    • Turn off the ECU/Driver Pack and close the software. Turn on the ECU/Driver Pack and restart the software.

    • For the Z Series, make sure that the pressure for the Variable Pressure Optimization on the Head has not been turned down too far.

    • Check the Blade Plunge on the Actuator Valve in the Air Valve Assembly located in the Gantry.

  • The Footblock is suddenly misrotating:

    • Make sure the Blade Cartridge Release Lever hasn’t been knocked out of position.

      • Manually rotate the Footblock to see if the Blade Cartridge Release Lever is striking something and rotate it back into position.

    • Check the ECU/Driver Pack connections into the back of the Control Panel, Gantry and the Computer and make sure they are plugged in tight.

    • Turn off the ECU/Driver Pack and close the software. Turn on the ECU/Driver Pack and restart the software.

  • The corners are cutting twisted, especially when looking at the back of the mat:
