Variable Pressure Optimization (VPO)
This section defines and provides resolutions for common hardware issues for the Variable Pressure Optimization (VPO) feature on the cutting Head on the CMC models equipped with this feature.
Variable Pressure Optimization (VPO) Definition: The Variable Pressure Optimization (VPO) feature on the Head regulates cutting pressure when cutting Dense and Extra Dense materials on CMC Models that support this feature.
Usage:
Use the the Variable Pressure Optimization (VPO) feature on the Head to set the cutting pressure for:
Standard Matboard
Dense Matboard
Extra Dense Matboard
Connections:
Users can cut Dense and Extra Dense materials by adjusting the VPO air pressure.
The Variable Pressure Optimization (VPO) Gauge is located on the lower left front of the Head faceplate.
The Variable Pressure Optimization (VPO) Knob is located on the left side of the Head just underneath the faceplate.
Controlled by/Controls:
The Variable Pressure Optimization (VPO) feature is controlled by air pressure.
The Air Regulator controls the CMC’s primary Air Pressure from the Air Compressor and regulates the Clamps, Head Lift, Head Plunge, Blade Plunge, and Blade Depth.
The ECU/Driver Pack controls the electrical signals between the Computer, Gantry and the Control Panel on CMCs that include that feature.
There are Actuator Valve test buttons on the Air Valve Assembly to evaluate each of the mechanical functions for the Clamps Activation, Head Drop/Lift and the Blade Cartridge Plunge.
