Variable Pressure Optimization (VPO)

Variable Pressure Optimization (VPO)

  • The Variable Pressure Optimization (VPO) feature on the Head regulates the pressure applied to the material being cut for CMCs that have this feature.

    • This allows users to cut Dense and Extra Dense materials by adjusting the VPO's air pressure.

Connections:

  • The Variable Pressure Optimization (VPO) Gauge is located on the lower left of the Head faceplate.

  • The Variable Pressure Optimization (VPO) Knob is located on the left side of the Head just under the faceplate.

Troubleshooting:

  • The VPO Head is not Lifting/Lowering to the material:

    • Check the Air Compressor and make sure it is on.

    • Check the Air Lines to make sure they are not kinked.

    • Check the ECU/Driver Pack connections into the back of the Emergency Stop Button/Control Panel, Gantry and the Computer and make sure they are plugged in tight.

    • Turn off the ECU/Driver Pack close the software. Turn on the ECU/Driver Pack restart the software.

    • Check the Head Lift in the Actuator Valve in the Air Valve Assembly located in the Gantry; the Air Valve Assembly may need to be replaced.

  • The Blade Cartridge in the VPO Head is not plunging:

    • For the Z Series, make sure that the pressure for the Variable Pressure Optimization on the Head has not been turned down too far.

    • Check the Blade Cartridge Plunge in the Actuator Valve in the Air Valve Assembly located in the Gantry; the Air Valve Assembly may need to be replaced.
