Gantry

The Gantry

Gantry Connections and Controls:

  • The Air Valve Assembly is mounted at the top of the Gantry under the Gantry cover.

  • The Drive Shaft runs Vertically through the left side of the Gantry.

  • The Toothed Pulley is located at the top of the Drive Shaft of the Gantry.

  • The Vertical Belt travels inside the enclosure on the right side of the Gantry and drives the Head’s Vertical movement.

  • The Head Grabber Arm is located on the right side of the Gantry and serves as the mounting point for the Head and is controlled by the Vertical Belt.

  • The Gantry runs Horizontally along the Board via the Drive Belt, controlling the Head’s Horizontal movement.

  • Ensure that the Red Lines on the Drive Belts align with the Red Lines on the Toothed Pulley to keep the Gantry completely straight and properly aligned: Drive Belt Position Alignment.

  • Gantry X Axis movement (Horizontal movement of Gantry and Head)

  • Gantry Y-Axis movement (Vertical Movement of Head on Gantry)

  • Head Z-Axis (Footblock Rotation)

    • The Air Valve Assembly in the Gantry controls the mechanical functions of the:

      • Clamps Activation

      • Head Lift

      • Blade Cartridge Plunge

    • Test buttons on the Actuator Valve of the Air Valve Assembly in the Gantry verify the mechanical functions of the:

      • Clamps Activation

      • Head Lift

      • Blade Cartridge Plunge

  • Make sure that the Board Cable on the back of the Board is not being obstructed as the Gantry moves.
