Drive Belt
This section provides definitions, hardware support and troubleshooting for the Drive Belt which run horizontally along the top and bottom Board Rails and work with the Toothed Pulley housed in the Gantry’s Drive Shaft to move the Gantry horizontally with precise control.
The Drive Belts run horizontally along the top and bottom Board Rails and work with the Toothed Pulley housed in the Gantry’s Drive Shaft to move the Gantry horizontally with precise control.
The Drive Belts are secured by the Belt Anchor on the left and the Belt Tensioner Assembly on the right.
The Belt Tensioner Assembly, located on the right side of the Board Rails, adjusts the Horizontal Tension of the Drive Belt.
Ensure the Red Lines on the Drive Belts align with the Red Lines on the Toothed Pulley; misalignment will cause the Gantry to be crooked.
Connections:
The Drive Belts attach to the Board at the Belt Anchors on the left end of the top and bottom Board Rails, then run Horizontally along the Board Rails and then through the Toothed Pulley of the Drive Shaft of the Gantry and are anchored by the Belt Tensioner Assembly on the right side of the Board.
Make sure that the Red Lines on the Drive Belts and Toothed Pulley on the Gantry line up together.
Controlled by:
The tension of the Drive Belt is controlled by the Horizontal Tension Adjustment on the right side of the upper and lower Board Rails.
Troubleshooting:
The cuts are cutting crooked:
Make sure that the Red Lines on the Drive Belts and Toothed Pulley line up together. If the Red Lines do not line up, the Drive Belt needs to be realigned: Drive Belt Position Alignment.
The Drive Belt is becoming frayed.
Order and replace the Drive Belts: Drive Belt Replacement
