Rail Clamp
This section provides definitions, hardware support and troubleshooting for the Horizontal Rail Clamp and Vertical Rail Clamp that securely hold the matboard in place while cutting on the CMC Boards that include this feature.
The Horizontal Rail Clamp and the Vertical Rail Clamp securely hold the matboard in place while cutting on CMC Boards that include this feature.
Usage:
Just before cutting, the Vertical and Horizontal Rail Clamps will engage and clamp against the matboard to hold it in place while cutting.
After cutting, the Rail Clamps will disengage so you can remove the matboard.
Connections:
The Vertical Rail Clamp is located on the left side of the Board, just to the right of the Gantry when in the home position, and the Horizontal Rail Clamp is located along the bottom of the Board.
Controlled by:
The Rail Clamp is controlled by Air Pressure, the Air Valve Assembly located in the Gantry and the ECU/Driver Pack signals.
Troubleshooting:
If the Clamps are not engaging:
Make sure that the Air Compressor is on.
Check the Air Lines to make sure they are not kinked.
Make sure that the connection cables for the ECU/Driver Pack, Gantry, Computer and Control Panel (if appropriate) are tightly plugged in.
Turn off the ECU/Driver Pack and close the software. Turn on the ECU/Driver Pack and restart the software.
Check the Clamp Test Button on the Actuator Valve in the Air Valve Assembly located in the Gantry.
The Air Valve Assembly may need to be replaced.
