The Head is attached to the Gantry via the Head Grabber Arm which moves vertically on the Gantry via the Gantry Vertical Belt. The Gantry is a spanning framework which attaches to the top and bottom of the Board and moves horizontally across it. As the Gantry moves horizontally, the Head moves vertically and the Footblock rotates to apply the Cartridge to the matboard. The Head Drop of the Head is controlled by the Air Valve Assembly located in the Gantry and the ECU/Driver Pack signals. The Footblock Blade Plunge of the Footblock is controlled by the Air Valve Assembly located in the Gantry and the ECU/Driver Pack signals. Some Heads have the Variable Pressure Optimization (VPO) feature which controls the pressure the Head applies to the material being cut allowing the user to cut Dense and Extra Dense material by adjusting the Air Pressure of the VPO.
Troubleshooting: If the VPO Head is not Lifting/Lowering to the material: If the Non-VPO Head is not Lowering/Lifting up from the material: If the Blade Cartridge is not Plunging: If the Footblock is suddenly misrotating: Make sure the Blade Cartridge Release Lever hasn’t been knocked out of position. Manually rotate the Footblock to see if the Blade Cartridge Release Lever is striking anything and rotate it back into position. Are the connection cables for the ECU/Driver Pack, Gantry, Computer and Control Panel (if appropriate) on tight? Turn off the ECU/Driver Pack close the software. Turn on the ECU/Driver Pack restart the software.
