Head

Usage:

• The Head contains the Footblock which holds either a Blade Cartridge or Non-Blade Cartridge which is applied directly to the matboard.

• The Blade Depth Dial controls how deep the Cartridge is applied to the matboard for CMC models equipped with this feature.

Head Connections and Controls:

• The Head houses the Footblock, into which an interchangeable Cartridge—either a Blade Cartridge or Non-Blade Cartridge—is inserted for direct application to the matboard.

• The Vertical Belt travels inside the enclosure on the right side of the Gantry and drives the Head’s Vertical movement via the Head Grabber Arm.

• The Head Grabber Arm houses the Air Lines and Head Power Cable connecting the Head to the Gantry.

  • The Air Lines are attached by matching colors.

    • Red Air Line controls the Blade Plunge.

    • Blue Air Line controls the Head Lift.

• The Head Assembly Power Cable Strain Relief spanner fits around the Head Power Cable plugged into the Head Grabber Arm.

• On the Z1, the M12 Cable is attached between the Head Grabber Arm and the top of the Head.

• The Head Wheels of the Head, which is attached to the Head Grabber Arm on the Gantry, travel within the Gantry Grooves while the Vertical Belt drives the Head’s Vertical movement to ensure precise cuts.

• The Drive Belts attach to the Board Rail at the left Belt Anchor, run horizontally along the Board Rails, pass through the Toothed Pulley on the Gantry’s Drive Shaft, and secure to the Belt Tensioner Assembly on the right, and control the Head’s Horizontal movement.

• The Variable Pressure Optimization (VPO) feature on the Head regulates cutting pressure when cutting Dense and Extra Dense materials on CMC Models that support this feature.
