Footblock Cleaning and Lubrication: All Current CMC Models

Problem/Purpose:

  • Twisted Corner is when the Blade rotates before fully retracting from the matboard, which tears the matboard and twists the corner.

    • This is especially visible from the back of the mat.

  • The Footblock may become clogged with matboard debris over time, keeping it from plunging/retracting properly.

    • This can cause tearing in the corners and problems with circles.

    • When paper dust and other materials build up inside the Footblock it won’t slide consistently.

  • This procedure will walk through lubricating the Footblock allowing it to move smoothly.

Items Needed:

  • Compressed Air Gun.

  • Dry Silicone Lubricant. We recommend dry silicone lubricant for our equipment because it lubricates even when dry and does not drip onto the mats. Below are suggestions but not the required brands; there are many other types available in your local hardware store.

    • CRC0324 CRC “Chute Lube”

    • 91110 Super Lube Silicone, Aerosol

Clean the Footblock

  • Turn the ECU/Driver Pack off.

  • Move the Head to the right side of the Board where there is easy access to the Footblock.
