Editor Toggles | |

The Toggles section on the Editor contains a variety of useful toggles. |
Dynamic Outside | |
---|---|
Click Dynamic Outside to toggle dynamic outside on/off. Toggle appears brighter when on. | |
Turning on Dynamic Outsides automatically applies the border size to the array of objects, adjusting the outside dimensions as necessary. | |
A new object dragged to the edge of the mat will readjust the outside dimensions as the borders form around the current objects. Turning off Dynamic Outsides makes the outside dimension fixed. |
Borders | |
---|---|
Click Borders to toggle borders on/off. Toggle appears brighter when on. Borders on allows object edges/centers to snap to border lines. Borders off allows object edges to be placed without snapping to borders. |
Edit Borders | |
---|---|
Click on a border line then select properties. Or, click Edit from file menu then Change Borders. Edit border sizes in the designated fields. Borders are measured from edge of the mat to objects. Even Borders: Select Even Borders to enter a single value to be applied to all border widths. Unselect Even Borders to enter different values for each border. Lock Borders: Select Lock Borders to lock border lines so that they cannot be moved via the mouse. When locked, border control points are white; unlocked are green. Borders readjust to new outside dimensions if dynamic borders is on. Unselect Lock Borders to make the borders adjustable with the mouse. |

Guides | |

Click Guides to toggle guides on/off. Toggle appears brighter when on. Guides on allows object edges/centers to snap to guide lines. Guides off allows object edges to be placed without snapping to guide lines. |
Manual Guide | |
---|---|
Click and hold the mouse button on ruler edge of matboard and drag onto work space to place a guide. Click on the Properties tab to edit the guide. | |
Object edges can snap to guide lines or center over them. |
Guide from Object | |
---|---|
Right-click on an object. Select New Vertical Guide or New Horizontal Guide. Select specific relative position to place guide. | |
Guide is placed in relation to the object. |
Guide Relative Distance from Object | |

Right-click on an object. Select New Vertical Guide or New Horizontal Guide. | |
Select Other for the relative position. Select desired direction checkbox(es). Enter the specific distance in the associated direction field to place guide. | |
Click OK or hit enter on the keyboard to place guide relative distance from object. |
Edit Guide | |

Click on guide line. Click on the Properties tab to edit the guide. Direction: Displays guide direction. Top position field: Displays distance from left of mat on vertical guides. Displays distance from bottom of mat on horizontal guides. Bottom position field: Displays distance from right of mat on vertical guides. Displays distance from top of mat on horizontal guides. Swap Position: Click Swap Position to swap the positioning numbers. | |
Guide Right-Click Menu: Edit Guide(s): Edit guide(s) position. Remove Guide(s): Remove the selected guide(s). Inactivate Guide(s): Same as clicking guides toggle button. Cut: Delete guide(s). Copy: Copy the guide(s). Paste: Paste copied guide(s). Activate Guide(s): Same as clicking guides toggle button. |
Center Guides | |

Click Tools and select Add New Guides. | |
Guides are centered horizontally and vertically onto the mat. Objects can align or center over guides. Guide toggle appears brighter when on. Note: If outside dimensions is changed, these center guides do not reposition to new center position. |
Positioning Guides | |

Click the Positioning button to toggle between positioning the guide from top/bottom mat, as shown by the arrow direction. | |
Arrow up positions/aligns objects to snap to guides from the top layer. | |
Objects snap from the top layer. | |
Arrow down positions/aligns objects to snap to guides from the bottom layer. | |
Objects snap from the bottom layer. |
