Group Selection: MatDesigner

Hold down shift key and select two or more objects.

Click on the Advanced tab.

Select Group Selection to lock group together.

Objects are now grouped as a single entity.

Overlapping objects are merged together.

Using group selection is different than just selecting several objects to form a group. Group Selection locks the group together, and if an object is selected outside the group, it does not ungroup the grouped openings.

Select Ungroup Selection to unlock the group.

Click group selection button.

Click on the Properties tab.

Merged Openings displays how many objects have been merged to create this object.

Click Ungroup Openings to unlock the group.

Objects are now ungrouped.

Edit width and height of group opening.

• Click Sizes to select recent or standard sizes.

• Click Swap to switch numbers between width/height.

Overlapping openings automatically merge together when grouped together.

Unselect Merge Path to unmerge grouped objects.

Openings will now overlap but not merge together.
