Placing Openings onto the Work Space

Placing Openings onto the Work Space

There are a variety of way of placing openings onto the work space to create your designs.

Click and Drag a Template Thumbnail

Click and drag the desired template thumbnail onto the work space.

The opening is placed on the specified position on the work space.

Click on the template thumbnail.

Opening is placed in the center of mat.

Alternatively, click and hold mouse button on thumbnail and drag opening onto the work space.

Click on the template name button, i.e., rectangle.

Template library opens.

Select tab 1-9 to browse designs.

Click on new thumbnail to select new template.

New template replaces the old template.

A different template can be selected for each of the six template slots.

Right-click on the template thumbnail.

New Openings Screen opens to the Array tab.

Opening Size: Enter width/height of opening.

Click Sizes to select recent or standard sizes.

Click Swap to switch numbers between width/height.

# Openings: Enter number of openings desired.

Columns: Enter number of columns to place the openings.

Rows: Enter number of rows to place the openings.

Spacing: Enter the horizontal or vertical spacing between openings.

Select template, enter layers, select Cartridges.
Click B when finished.

Openings appear on the editor.

Add a V-Groove

Leave the openings selected.

On the Opening Tab, click on the Add V-Groove Opening button.

Enter 1 (2.5 cm) for the distance from the current openings to place the V-Groove.

Click OK to place the V-Groove around the openings.

Have V-Groove selected and click on the Properties Tab.

Click the Change button.

Select #103 Octagon from the Template Library. Not all templates are available as a V-Groove.

This is different from the Change To Template button which does not change the shape of the V-Groove, but changes it from a V-Groove to another template completely.

The V-Groove shape is now an octagon.

With V-Groove still selected, click the Parameters Tab and change the chamfer to 1.5 (3.5 cm).

Right-click on an opening to access the right-click menu.

Select Copy.

Right-click on the Work Space and select Paste.

An exact copy of the selected opening is copied onto the mat.

Right-click on the new opening and select Delete.

Opening is deleted.
