Bevel Type Examples

The examples below display the different bevel types that can be cut with the bladed cartridges.

Select the desired Cartridge Type Tab then select the desired bevel type to edit from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control.

Normal Bevel

Normal Bevel

A Normal Bevel opening is cut from the back* of the mat, and displays an exposed bevel in the face of the matboard.

A Reverse Bevel opening is cut from the back* of the mat, and does not display an exposed bevel in the face of the matboard.

A Normal Drop is the fallout that is cut from the back* of the mat, which displays an exposed bevel on the face of the matboard.

When cutting an Open V-Groove, the inside cut uses the Normal Drop bevel configuration.

A Reverse Drop is the fallout that is cut from the back* of the mat, which does not display an exposed bevel on the face of the matboard.

When cutting a Reverse Bevel Open V-Groove, the inside cut uses the Reverse Drop bevel configuration.

An Outside is the outside cut of the mat that is cut from the back* of the mat, and does not display an exposed bevel on the face of the matboard.

An Outside - Front of Mat is the outside cut of the mat that is cut from the front* of the mat, which does not display an exposed bevel on the face of the matboard.

V-Groove

V-Groove

A V-Groove is a thin channel cut into the face of the matboard to reveal the matboard core color. It is cut from the front of the mat, and any other openings on that layer will also be cut from the front.
