Quick Calibration: FrameShop Configurations Screen

Quick Calibration

Quick Calibration

Quick Calibration gives a walk-through of making sure that the opening is the right size, cut in the right place, as well as adjust the backups and overcuts and correct for swoops and flares.

First we will design a simple mat. Have FrameShop open on the Main Screen.

Click Design.

Select Design from the Main Screen

On the New Openings Screen on the Single Tab, enter:

  • Opening Size: 2x2

  • Borders: 2, 2, 2

  • Outside Size: 6x6

  • Layers: 1

  • Click the Cartridge Icon and select the desired Cartridge.

  • Click the Cut button.

Click Cut to Go to the Cut Preview

Now we will cut the mat to see if the configurations for the current blade cartridge or bevel type needs to be adjusted.

The Cutting Preview opens.

Cut the mat from the desired side of the mat with the desired cartridge, but do not cut the outside.

It will cut a 2x2” opening with 2” borders.

Mark an X in the lower left corner of the mat before removing it from the CMC to indicate how it sat on the board.

Look at the mat you have cut. Is it cut the correct size? Is it cut in the correct place? Do any of the cuts go too far or are cut too short? Is there a Swoop or Flare in the corners?
