  • The Board contains all of the components that make up your CMC.

Connections:

  • The Board contains a Clamping system to hold the matboard in place while cutting:

  • The Gantry is a spanning framework which attaches to the top and bottom of the Board via the Gantry Wheels and the Drive Belt and moves horizontally across it.

  • The Head is attached to the Gantry via the Head Grabber Arm which moves vertically on the Gantry via the Gantry Vertical Belt.

  • The Head contains the Footblock which holds the selected Cartridge for cutting or applying details to matboard.

  • As the Gantry moves horizontally, the Head moves vertically and the Footblock rotates to apply the Cartridge to the matboard.

  • Some Heads have the Variable Pressure Optimization (VPO) feature which controls the pressure the Head applies to the material being cut allowing the user to cut Dense and Extra Dense material by adjusting the Air Pressure of the VPO.

  • The ECU is the Electronic Control Unit, which is a signal amplifier and powers the CMC and its functions.

  • The Driver Pack is the signal amplifier which powers the CMC and its functions.

  • The ECU/Driver Pack is connected between the computer and the Gantry and sometimes through the Control Panel.

  • Some Boards have a Control Panel with commonly used buttons such as the Emergency Stop Button, Mat Clamp Pressure Knob, Clamp Pressure Adjustment, and the Push to Cut Button.

  • The Board is connected to the Air Regulator and the Air Compressor.

  • Not all CMC Boards contain all of the features displayed.
