Lesson Ten: Merging Objects to Make a Jersey

Creating a Jersey with Template Shapes

Creating a Jersey with Template Shapes

  • Jerseys come in a large variety of shapes and sizes. Depending upon how they're folded, the Jersey design can become even more varied.

  • You can easily create a custom opening for a Jersey with the minimum amount of effort.

  • Start by laying out the various Template openings that will make up the segments of the design.

  • We want them to overlap a little so that we can Merge them.

  • We're going to design half of the Jersey then Mirror it in Trace to create the other half of the Jersey.

  • By going through these steps, you can customize the design for the particular Jersey you are working on.

  • These steps can be used to make any variety of other shapes as well, so it is not limited to just making Jerseys.

Templates are specialized parametric shape generators created by Wizard.

Many of the templates have additional Properties that can be edited which can change the shape, curves and corners of the design as well as a wide assortment of Parameters.

The Template Library displays the different templates that are available for use.

The Group Selection button will combine the Group of Selected Objects to form a single entity.

Any overlapping sections sharing the same Bevel Type will Merge together, removing the interior sections that are not part of the new continuous sequence around the outside edge of the combined objects.

The Merge button will combine overlapped objects into a single object in Trace.
