Editor

The Editor section sets the default settings to be used throughout the Design Editor.

Editor Startup

Set the defaults for the New Openings Screen and the Design Editor screen. 

Remember Previous     

  • Select the Remember Previous radio button to start with the same settings used in the previous Design session. This feature works well for some individuals, but may be confusing in a multi-user environment. 

  • Select the Start with Toggle Settings radio button (described below) to start with the selected toggle settings.   

Start with Toggle Settings            

  • Select the Start With Toggle Settings radio button to start with the selected toggle settings. 

  • Select the Remember Previous radio button (described above) to use the same settings from the previous session. 

Dynamic Outsides         

Set the Dynamic Outsides toggle on to automatically add the border size to the bounding rectangle of the current group of openings, adjusting the outside size as necessary. A new opening dragged to the edge of the mat will adjust the outside size by adding the borders around the current openings.

  • Set Dynamic Outsides toggle on to add the border size to the current openings, changing the outside dimension dynamically when openings are moved.

  • Set Dynamic Outsides toggle off to keep the outside dimension stagnant, where it will remain a fixed size.

  • This can also be toggled on/off on the Design Editor and on the Visualization Editor.

Bottom Layer/Top Layer

This setting controls the default setting for the Positioning Toggle arrow on the Editor.

  • Set the Positioning toggle to Bottom to position openings from the bottom layer.

  • Set the Positioning toggle to Top to position openings from the top layer.

  • This can also be toggled on the Design Editor screen.

Skip New Openings

Auto Label Multi Openings

  • Select the Auto Label Multi Openings checkbox to label new openings on the Design editor with the size of the opening. This label is overwritten if a new label is manually entered in the opening's Label field. 

  • Unselect the Auto Label Multi Openings checkbox to not display the size label on new openings. 

  • You can also toggle on the opening size label on the Design Editor on the Options menu.

Enforce Minimum Sizes

  • Select the Enforce Minimum Sizes checkbox to require that the CutArt and LetterMat objects are using the minimum size or greater. If the object is below the previously set Minimum Size, the user will receive a warning when they go to the Cut Preview. The user will be prompted to Cut As Is or Force Minimum Size.  

  • Unselect the Enforce Minimum Sizes checkbox to not enforce the Minimum Size of CutArt or LetterMat objects. 

  • Caution: User may experience unsatisfactory results when cutting below the minimum size.  

Cut the Outside

Show Values as Fractions?

  • Select the Show Values as Fractions checkbox to display the numerical values in the software numerical entry fields as Fractions, such as when editing the Template sizes.

  • Unselect the Show Values as Fractions checkbox to display the numerical values in the software fields as Decimals, such as when editing the Template sizes.   

Wizard Wink Camera

  • Select the Wizard Wink Camera checkbox to display the Wink camera settings in the software. This must be displayed in order for the color profiles to be visible within the Visualization software.

  • Unselect the Wizard Wink Camera checkbox to not display the Wink camera settings. If the Wizard Wink Camera checkbox is unselected, both the Calibration button and the Calibration Main Screen menu item are hidden.

Camera Defaults

The Camera Defaults section sets the timeout settings for the camera in the Visualize software. These adjustments help if there is a slowdown of data between the camera and the camera capture software.  

Timeout

Select the desired camera Timeout Value setting for the camera for the Visualize software.

Retries

Select the desired number of retries for the camera for the Visualize software.

Init Timeout

Select the desired Initial Timeout setting for the camera for the Visualize software.

Defaults

The Defaults section sets the Default Sizes and Settings.

Opening and Outside Defaults

Outside Size

Enter the desired default Outside Dimension under Outside Size.

Opening Size

Enter desired default Opening Dimension under Opening Size. This setting controls the default opening dimensions when placing new openings on the work area from the Template Slots

Optionally, user can also Right-Click on an opening in the Design editor and select Make Object Size Current to set the new default size.

Detail Defaults

# of Layers

Specify the default number of layers for template openings. Maximum number of layers is six (6).

Horizontal Spacing

Enter the default value for the Horizontal Spacing for use on the New Openings Screen - Array Tab.

Vertical Spacing

Enter the default value for the Vertical Spacing for use on the New Openings Screen - Array Tab.

V-Groove Distance

The V-Groove Distance sets the default distance to place the V-Groove from the selected opening when initially placing the V-Groove.

Fillet Width

Enter the desired default exposure width for Fillets.

Remember Last Fillet Width

  • Select the Remember Last Fillet Width checkbox to use the same width as the last Fillet placed.  

  • Unselect the Remember Last Fillet Width to use the default Fillet Exposure Width when placing a Fillet.    

Borders

Set the default settings for the Borders.

Borders Entry

Enter the desired default Border values for Top, Left, Right and Bottom Borders.

Even Borders

  • Select Even Borders checkbox to default to making the Borders evenly sized around the mat, thus requiring only one number to be entered in one of the border fields. 

  • Unselect Even Borders checkbox to enter a number in each border field independently, such as for weighted borders.

Lock Borders

  • Select the Lock Borders checkbox to lock the Border lines so that they cannot be accidentally adjusted by dragging them with a mouse. When locked, the corner border control points change from green to white. Borders will still readjust to the new outside dimensions if Dynamic Outsides toggle is on. 

  • Unselect the Lock Borders checkbox to allow the Border lines to be adjustable with the mouse. 

Apply Borders To:

Select which layer to apply the Borders to.

  • Bottom Layer

  • Top Layer

Fonts Defaults

Set the Fonts defaults and settings for the initial placement for LetterMat and TTFs.

LetterMat Default Text

Enter the desired default text to be used when initially placing a LetterMat. Edit the placeholder LetterMat text with the desired text on the Design Editor

TTF Default Text

Enter the desired default text to be used when initially placing a TTFEdit the placeholder TTF text with the desired text on the Design Editor

Letter Height

Enter the desired default letter height text to be used when initially placing a LetterMat or TTF

Kerning

Enter the default Kerning value for LetterMat or TTF. Kerning adjusts the space between individual letter forms. Space characters (i.e., hitting spacebar) uses tracking, and not kerning.

Tracking

Enter the default Tracking (letter-spacing) value for LetterMat or TTF. Tracking adjusts spacing uniformly over a range of characters. Space characters (i.e., hitting spacebar) uses tracking, and not kerning.

Pens Defaults

Set the defaults for the pen cartridge for new Pen designs. 

Pen Number and Limit

Pen Number            

Select the desired Pen number to edit.

Limit

Enter the total maximum number of Pens that will be allowed; maximum of nine (9) pens.

Label

Enter the desired Pen’s name description in the Label field.

Hint: Next to the description of the current pen, enter the number of lines visible on the pen holder where it lines up to the pen cartridge. Use these lines as reference when setting the pen holder into the cartridge the next time you use this pen.

Color

Click the Set Color button to open the Windows standard color picker to select the desired color to display when this particular Pen is selected. 

Width

Select the desired pen's display width for the selected pen. This will set the visual thickness of the Pen on the Editor; the larger the number, the wider the display for the pen. 

Vinyl Defaults

Set up the defaults for the Vinyl cartridge.

Color

Click the Set Color button to open the Windows standard color picker to select the desired color to display when this particular Vinyl is selected. 

Box Defaults

Set up the defaults for the Box utility

Thickness

Enter the default Box Thickness. The thickness is incorporated into the box design and designates where to place the fold lines so that different thicknesses of material will fold properly into the box.

Tool Threshold

Enter the default Box Tool Threshold. This is the thickness threshold at which the Box utility will switch from using the Deboss Tool on thinner material to the Creasing Tool on thicker material. 

Template

Select the desired Box Template to use at the default box from the dropdown control.
