LetterMat Properties

Use the LetterMat Properties to edit the individual proprietary adjustments available for LetterMat objects.

Click on a LetterMat object and click on the Properties Tab.

Optionally, Right-Click on the LetterMat opening and select Edit to open the LetterMat Properties.

LetterMat Opening

The LetterMat Opening section allows the user to enter the desired text for the LetterMat, or select a different LetterMat font.

Text 

Enter desired lettering text in the Text field. 

Only upper and lower case letters (A-Z, a-z), and numbers (0-9) are supported in LetterMat.

LetterMat Font Name

Select the desired LetterMat font from the Font Name dropdown control. 

Fonts with DB in the name are Deboss fonts (if installed), which can also be Penned. Fonts with Pen in the name are Pen fonts (if installed), which can also be Debossed. Fonts that don't have DB or Pen in the name can be cut, Debossed, or Penned.

The default settings for the LetterMats can be set in the Admin > Editor section.

Dimensions

Use the Dimension Section to edit and/or lock the LetterMat object dimensions, set the X/Y positioning, or rotate the LetterMat.

Text Size

Select the Text Size tab to enter dimensions based on the full text bounding rectangle.        

Width 

Enter the full LetterMat Width dimension. 

Height    

Enter the LetterMat Height dimension.

Letter Size

Select the Letter Size tab to enter dimensions based on the individual letter size.

Em Width

Enter the individual letter Em Width dimension.

Em Height

Enter the individual letter Em Height dimension. 

Lock or Unlock Size

Lock or Unlock Size

Click the unlock icon toggle to Lock the size of the current LetterMat opening. 

Conversely, click the locked icon toggle to Unlock the size of the current LetterMat opening. 

X and Y Position Fields

X (Position Field) 

The X Position field is used to manually set the horizontal position of the selected object (lines shown for illustration). 

Y (Position Field)

The Y Position field is used to manually set the vertical position of the selected object (lines shown for illustration). 

Rotation Entry Field

Enter the desired degree of rotation in the Rotation field.

The currently selected LetterMat will pivot from the center point.

To rotate a group of objects or to manually rotate an object, see Rotation on the Advanced Tab. 

LetterMat Parameters

Use the LetterMat Parameters section to edit the specific LetterMat parameters.

Keep Aspect Ratio   

Check the Keep Aspect Ratio checkbox to keep the LetterMat height/width proportionate when resizing. 

Uncheck Keep Aspect Ratio checkbox to change the LetterMat height/width independently of each other. 

For best results, it is recommended to have KAR checked.

Min Height

The original LetterMat height is displayed in the Min Height field. 

However, Letters can be Debossed and Penned smaller than they can be cut.

The default setting to Enforce Minimum Sizes on LetterMat can be set in the Admin > Editor section.

Kerning and Tracking

Kerning

Kerning adjusts the space between individual letter forms.   

Tracking 

Tracking (letter-spacing) adjusts spacing uniformly over a range of characters.

Space Between Words

Spacing between words is Kerning+Tracking.

Direction

Direction

Direction is the orientation of the LetterMat: Horizontal or Vertical.   
           
Justify   

Justify is the direction of justification for Vertical LetterMats.

Cartridge Selection and Type

Cartridge Selection and Type

Use the Cartridge and Type section to select the desired Cartridge and Cartridge Type for the particular LetterMat.

Cartridge Icon

Click on the Cartridge Icon and select the desired cartridge for the current LetterMat.  

Cartridge Type

When applicable, select the desired cartridge type from the Type dropdown control. 

Selections available are dependent upon the type of Cartridge tool selected.

For instance for Deboss, the selections available are the Deboss Wide, Deboss Medium, and Deboss Thin cartridges.
