Problem:- Corners are Hooking. | Solution:- The Hook can be caused by the Blade Depth being too long, or a backup that is too short. This causes the back end of the Blade to show up in the corner, appearing as a hook. 1 - Check the External Backup in the Configurations and make sure it is a positive value. If it is smaller than zero, increase the value. Smaller numbers will shorten the overcuts. 2 - Make sure the Blade is not bent. Change the Blade to be sure. 3 - If the steps 1 and 2 are correct then change the rotation value by going to the Configurations and adjusting the value in increments of 50. See the Configurations Manual for more information. |
Problem:- Overcuts are too long or too short. | Solution:- 1 - Change the Blade. As the Blade dulls, the overcuts will shorten slightly. 2 - Adjust the Overcuts as displayed in the Configurations Manual. Note: The settings for overcuts adjust only the length of travel the machine makes on the cut. The Blade Reaction Time and the Flow Control Valve (located on the Blade Head) also adjust the Backups. A smaller Blade Reaction Time will shorten the Overcut. Turning the Flow Control Valve clockwise will close the valve and slow the drop speed of the Blade Head. This will shorten the overcuts (Note: Closing the valve too much will cause the overcuts to be somewhat inconsistent in size). |
Problem:- Blade not cutting through the matboard. | Solution:- 1 - Change the Blade. 2 - Make sure the V-Groove tool is not on the Head. 3 - If the corners are not cutting through, refer to the Configurations manual. 4 - Check the air pressure on the right regulator located on the left side of the machine. The gage should read between 40 and 50 PSI. 5 - Turn the Depth Adjustment Screw counter clockwise to increase the Blade depth. 6 - If the Blade is still not cutting through, watch the Depth Adjustment Screw as the machine cuts. Is the Head of the screw making contact? If not place a couple of drops of air tool oil in the air cylinder on the Blade Head. |
Problem:- Mats are not centered or the borders of the mat are not right. | Solution:- One possible cause of this problem is catching the machine on a mat. Another would be Horizontal/Vertical Home and Opening Adjustment. Refer to the Configurations Manual for more information. |
Problem:- The machine is not cutting square. | Solution:- Call Support. |
Problem:- Machine displays a message that the machine is hitting a limit switch when resetting and initializing. | Solution:- Call Support. |
Problem:- Machine catching on warped matboard or cutouts sliding down and machine running over them. | Solution:- Physically hold the matboard in place. Re-mount spray adhesive works well. |
