Align the Head CMC Z (9000z)

To Align the Head:

  • Click the Align the Head button to position the Head and Gantry at the correct starting point and Power the Motors in preparation of cutting a mat, ensuring accurate cuts.

  • Aligning the Head will prepare the machine for cutting, but not actually cut.

    • You will need to click the Cut Button to cut the design after Aligning the Head.

      • See the options below for the specific settings available.

  • NOTE: The hardware photos below may slightly differ from your specific model but the steps are still the same.

  • Optionally, if you click the Cut button when the motors are disengaged, it will prompt you to Align the Head.

  • After the Head is Aligned, it will then Cut the mat.

  • If any of the SmartClamps™ are in the way, the Cut Preview highlights in Red any clamps that are in the way of the current cut sequence and need to be rotated out of the way before you cut the mat.

Interference Check:

  • The CMC will do an Interference Check to see if any of the clamps are in the way of the current cut sequence.

    • Rotate the indicated clamps out of the way as described below and click Continue.

Release Pressure on the SmartClamps:

  • To rotate the SmartClamps out of the way, push the indicated Clamp toward the Board to release the pressure.

Rotate the SmartClamps:

  • Rotate the indicated Clamps so that they are facing away from the center of the Board.

  • When the Clamps are engaged, they will be retracted flush with the Board.

Rotate SmartClamps Back for Next Job:

  • For the next cutting job, the Clamps should be rotated back toward the center of the Board to hold down the next mat.

Rotate the Indicated Clamp Away From Center

Rotate the Footblock:

  • Rotate the Footblock into the 12 O’Clock position.

Move the Head and Gantry to the Left:

  • Holding it about an inch above the bottom rail, slide the Gantry and the Head assembly to the left edge of the CMC until it stops.

Stop Against the Magnetic Stop:

  • It will stop against the Magnetic Stop.

Move Footblock Against Head Alignment Stop:

  • Then slide the Head down until the Footblock rests against the Head Alignment Stop.

Click Align the Head:

  • Click the Align the Head button or the Cut button to finish the Align the Head sequence.

Click Continue:

  • On the Alignment screen, make sure that the Pen, Vinyl and Creasing tools are not in the Footblock.

    • Click Continue on the Alignment screen.

The Head Will Align:

  • Head will align to the Home position.

Ready to Cut:

  • If you clicked the Align the Head button, the CMC is now Aligned and ready to cut.

  • If you clicked the Cut button, the CMC will now begin to cut the mat.
