Cutting with the Vinyl Cartridge

Cutting with the Vinyl Cartridge

  • These instructions will walk through cutting vinyl with the Vinyl Cartridge.

  • You will need a piece of matboard to use as a stabilizer sheet. Use the repositionable adhesive stick on the matboard. The stabilizer sheet will hold the vinyl in place while cutting and can be used several times. Reapply adhesive as necessary.

  • Place the piece of vinyl to be cut onto the stabilizer sheet, face-up. Smooth it out on the stabilizer sheet and make sure it is held in place.

  • NOTE: Make sure you have enough vinyl to cover the height of the stabilizer sheet, or at least be 6” taller than the design to be cut. This is because the Vinyl cartridge rotates to the bottom of the head while it cuts, and the Footblock might run off of the vinyl and get caught in adhesive or the edge of the sheet.
