45 Degree Plus Cartridge Configurations

  • The 45 Degree Plus Cartridge cuts a 45° bevel into thicker matboard such as 8-ply. 

  • The 45°+ Cartridge is selected on the Cut Preview Screen by selecting a Blade Depth above 16.

    • This Cartridge is not a selection on the Editor.

  • Older systems may have a yellow plastic 45°+ Cartridge.

45 Degree Plus Cartridge Definition

The 45°+ Cartridge cuts the bevel angle on the thicker matboard at 45°.

This angle can be displayed on either the front or the back of the mat or drop depending upon the selected Bevel Type.

The Bevel Type refers to the angle at which the blade cuts the surface of the matboard when it deviates from the 90° right angle cut.

The Bevel Type determines the initial blade plunge position.

Select [Bevel Type] or [Bevel Type]-Front of Mat from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control to edit this configuration.

The 45°+ Normal Bevel Opening is created by cutting into the thicker matboard surface with the blade angled at 45°, thereby slanting the bevel away from the matboard surface.

The matboard core is visible from the front.

The Bevel Type refers to the angle at which the blade cuts the surface of the matboard when it deviates from the 90° right angle cut.

The Bevel Type determines the initial blade plunge position.

Select Normal Bevel or Normal Bevel-Front of Mat from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control to edit this configuration.

The 45°+ Reverse Bevel Opening is created by cutting into the thicker matboard surface with the blade angled at 45°, thereby slanting the bevel under the matboard surface.

The matboard core is not visible from the front.

The Bevel Type refers to the angle at which the blade cuts the surface of the matboard when it deviates from the 90° right angle cut.

The Bevel Type determines the initial blade plunge position.

Select Reverse Bevel or Reverse Bevel-Front of Mat from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control to edit this configuration.

The 45°+ Normal Bevel Drop is created by cutting into the thicker fallout surface with the blade angled at 45°, thereby slanting the bevel away from the fallout surface.

The matboard core is visible from the front.

The Bevel Type refers to the angle at which the blade cuts the surface of the matboard when it deviates from the 90° right angle cut.

The Bevel Type determines the initial blade plunge position.

The Drop is one of the categories within certain opening styles, like the initial section cut of an Open V-Groove. However, it cannot be chosen as a standalone bevel type within Designer.

Select Normal Drop or Normal Drop-Front of Mat from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control to edit this configuration.
