Configurations Map

  • The Configuration Map is the mapping diagram that displays the External/Internal Backups/Overcuts for the selected Current Bevel Type in the current Cartridge Type Tab.

  • The arrows display the cutting direction, and are color coordinated to match up with the Backup and Overcut fields. 

  • The maps are displayed from the front of the matboard.

Compare the Last Mat Cut to the Configuration Map

Compare the Last Mat Cut to the Configuration Map

  • Look at the front of the last mat you have cut, in the same orientation in which it was cut.

  • Use the Configuration Map to determine the problem area. 

  • In this example, compare the too-long lines to the lines on the Configuration Map

The Exterior Backup controls where the Blade Plunges into the Matboard (not the Fallout) on the Exterior Cuts of Openings. 

The Exterior Cut is where the Blade Plunges or Retracts from the Matboard (not the Fallout).  

If the Exterior Backup is leaving a Hook in the corner, Increase the Exterior Backup.

If the Exterior Backup is cut Too Long, Decrease the Exterior Backup.

If the Exterior Backup is cut Too Short, Increase the Exterior Backup.

The Exterior Backup field is marked with a Green Arrow on the Configuration screen and the Map illustration.

The Exterior Overcut controls where the Blade Retracts from the Matboard (not the Fallout) on the Exterior cuts of Openings.

The Exterior Cut is where the Blade Plunges or Retracts from the Matboard (not the Fallout).  

If the Exterior Overcut is cut Too Long, Decrease the Exterior Overcut.

If the Exterior Overcut is cut Too Short, Increase the Exterior Overcut.

The Exterior Overcut field is marked with a Red Arrow on the Configuration screen and the Map illustration.

The Interior Cut is where the Blade Plunges or Retracts from the Fallout (not the Matboard).  

If the Interior Backup is cut Too Long, Decrease the Interior Backup.

If the Interior Backup is cut Too Short, Increase the Interior Backup.

The Interior Backup field is marked with a Black Arrow on the Configuration screen and the Map illustration.
