Vinyl Properties: FrameShop Design Editor

Use the Vinyl Properties to edit the individual proprietary adjustments available for the Vinyl objects.

Click on a Vinyl object and click on the Properties Tab.

Edit the individual proprietary adjustments available for Vinyl objects.

Optionally, Right-Click on the Vinyl opening and select Edit to open the Vinyl Properties.

The Vinyl Opening section allows the user to enter a label to the current Vinyl object, or select a different template instead of the Vinyl. 

Label

Enter the desired text in the Label field which will be displayed on the Vinyl opening. 

This overwrites the default label displaying the opening size if toggled on in the Defaults or on the Editor Edit Menu. 

Change to Template

Click the Change to Template button to access the Template Library. 

Select a different template instead of the Vinyl object.  

To change the SHAPE of the Vinyl, see Template Number and Name below. 

The default setting for the Vinyl openings can be set in the Admin > Editor section.

Use the Dimension Section to edit and/or lock the Vinyl object dimensions, set the X/Y positioning, or rotate the Vinyl object.

Width 

Enter the object/outside Width dimension.

Height 

Enter the object/outside Height dimension. 

Sizes Button 

The Sizes button displays a list of Recent and Standard sizes. 

Swap Button

The Swap button switches the values between the width and height fields.

Click the unlock icon toggle to Lock the size of the current Vinyl opening. 

Conversely, click the locked icon toggle to Unlock the size of the current Vinyl opening. 

X (Position Field)

The X Position field is used to manually set the horizontal position of the selected Vinyl object (lines shown for illustration).  

Y (Position Field) 

The Y Position field is used to manually set the vertical position of the selected Vinyl object (lines shown for illustration). 

Enter the desired degree of rotation in the Rotation field.

The currently selected Vinyl will pivot from the center point.

To rotate a group of objects or to manually rotate an object, see Rotation on the Advanced Tab.

Use the Vinyl Options section to select a different template shape, or attach it to an object or to the outside mat.

Template Number and Name

The Template Number and Name button displays the template number and name of the selected Vinyl shape.

Click the Template Number and Name button to open the Template Library. 

Select a different template SHAPE for the Vinyl. Templates not available for this function are not displayed.

To change the Vinyl to another template, see Change to Template above.

The Distance is the space between the Vinyl and the object the Vinyl is attached to in the Attach To field. 

If the Vinyl is not attached to anything, the Distance field is grayed out. 

NOTE: Offsetting the Vinyl from an object when initially placing the Vinyl does not automatically attach the Vinyl to that object.

Changing the Distance number will offset the Vinyl the new distance from the object.

Click Attach To and select the desired object to attach the current Vinyl from the dropdown control. 

If you resize the item that the Vinyl is attached to (opening or outside), it will remain the distance Distance field and resize proportionately. 

NOTE: Offsetting the Vinyl from an object when initially placing the Vinyl does not automatically attach the Vinyl to that object.

Vinyl Attached to Opening

Here the Vinyl is attached to the opening.

Vinyl Attached to the Mat

Here the Vinyl is attached to the mat.

Use the Cartridge and Type section to select the desired Cartridge and Cartridge Type for the particular layer of the object.

Cartridge Icon

Click on the Cartridge Icon and select the desired cartridge for the current object. 

Select Vinyl to use the Vinyl cartridge on the current object. Changing it to a non-Vinyl Cartridge will change the Vinyl to that Cartridge type; i.e., changing it from a Vinyl Cartridge to a 52 Degree Cartridge will make it a 52 Degree V-Groove opening.

Cartridge Type

When applicable, select the desired cartridge type from the Type dropdown control. 

Selections available are dependent upon the type of Cartridge tool selected.

The Template Options Parameters tab allows editing of the template parameter attributes of the selected template shape.

Template Options Parameters

These attributes are directly related to the specific template selected. 

Edit each parameter as desired; the design changes immediately to reflect the parameter adjustments.

Template Parameter Map

Click on the Template Parameter Map button (displayed as [?]) on the Parameters tab to open a template map.

The Template Parameter Map will describe what each parameter field adjusts for the current template.
