Find the Optimum Deboss Depth Setting

These instructions will show how to find the optimum Debossing Tool Cartridge Depth Setting. 

The blade depth setting may vary depending on the machine, the matboard and the effect desired. So it is best to find the optimum setting. 

Begin with the Deboss Wide (blue) cartridge. 

On the Openings tab, click Add Decorative Line.  

Select the Deboss Wide - Blue from the dropdown control. 

Click on the Properties tab to edit.  

Make the design 2x2, and turn on the Dynamic Outsides.

Click Cut to go to the Cut Preview.

Set the blade depth knob to 13. Disregard any blade depth prompt change and leave it at 13.

Click Cut.

When it has finished, look at the results. It is likely that the Debossed line will be subtle.

Now set the blade depth to 14 and Deboss the mat again on a clean section of matboard.

Repeat Debossing this mat, increasing the blade depth one point higher, until the desired Debossed effect is achieved without tearing the surface of the matboard.

Enter the Deboss depth setting for this Deboss cartridge.

Repeat this procedure for the Medium and the Thin Debossing cartridges.
