Upgrade/Termination Hardware Return Instructions: CMC 9000 and the Z Series
Please Box up the Following Four Items for Return: |
Please use your original CMC box to box up the following four items into one box. If you do not have your original packaging the box the new CMC arrived in can be used. • Board Please see the following removal and repacking for each item. |
Head Removal | |
Caution: Head appearance may vary from model shown, but the connections are the same. Do not pick up Head using the Blade Depth Knob or the Head Cover. Pick up the Head by holding the “D-Shaped” upper and lower Head Faceplates. | |
| Reset Motors Button |
| Turn off ECU |
| Eject the Blade Cartridge |
| Remove the Gantry Covers |
| Move Head to Right Side of the Board |
| Locate the M12 Cable on the Grabber Arm |
| Follow it to the Top of the Head and Disconnect it |
| Remove Screws on Grabber Arm |
| Remove the Head Assembly Power Cable Strain Relief From the Head Power Plug Connection |
| Disconnect the Head Power Plug |
| Disconnect the Air to the Head by Untwisting the Air Fittings |
| Remove Head Stop Plate |
| Roll the Head Down the Gantry |
Removing the ECU/Driver Pack | |
| Unplug the ECU/Driver Pack Power Cord |
| Disconnect the Board Cable from the ECU |
| Unplug the USB Cable From the Back of the ECU |
| Unplug the DB9 Cable From the ECU |
Secure the Gantry |

Loosen Drive Belt | |
| Move the Gantry Near the Right Side of the Board |
| Loosen One Turn Only the Allen Belt Tensioner Screw From the Right Bottom Side of the Lower Board Rail |
WARNING: Make sure you do not over-loosen this screw. One full turn is usually sufficient. | Belt Tensioner Springs Will be Visible |
| Remove the Allen Screws and Washers From the Lower Gantry Plate |
| Place Allen Screw and Washer From Lower Gantry Plate into Belt Tensioner Hole |
| Tighten the Allen Belt Tensioner Screw Located on the Right Bottom Side of the Lower Board Rail |
| Lift the Drive Belt End Out of the Belt Tensioner Slot |
Attaching the Shipping Blocks | |
| Loosely Place the T-Nut onto the Shipping Blocks and Slide onto the Board Rail |

Place Two Shipping Blocks on Either Side of the Gantry on the Top Board Rail |
| Place Two Shipping Blocks on Either Side of the Gantry on the Bottom Board Rail |
Installing the Drive Belt onto the Board Rail | |
| Pull the Coiled Drive Belt toward the Right and Pull the Belt Anchor into Place Flush with the End of the CMC |
| Slide the Screw of the Belt End into the Belt Tensioner Slot |
| Remove the Allen Screw and Washer from the Belt Tensioner |
| Place the Two Allen Screw and Washer into the Holes Provided on the Lower Gantry Plate |
WARNING: Make sure you do not over-loosen this screw. One full turn is usually sufficient. | Loosen One Turn Only the Allen Belt Tensioner Screw From the Right Bottom Side of the Lower Board Rail |
| The Belt Tensioner Should Spring Fully into Place |
| Snugly Tighten the Allen Belt Tensioner Screw on the Bottom Right of the Upper and Lower Board Rails |
| Reinstall the Gantry Cover |
Head Packaging | |
| Place the Packaging Foam in the Bottom of the Head Box |
| Place the Head Upside Down into the Cradle |
| Place the Remaining Portion of the Head Packaging Foam Across the Bottom of the Head |
Packing up the ECU/Driver Pack | |
| Fold out the Interior Feet of the ECU Packaging Foam |
| Place the Packaging Foam on Each End of the ECU |
Boxing up the Board | |
| Carefully Place the Foam Corners onto the Board |
| Lift the Board Straight Up and Place it into the Box |
| Place the Head Box and the ECU Box Between the Gantry and the Side of the Box Between the Foam Corners |
Schedule the System Return |
