Air Clamp Definition

The Air Clamps sit within the Air Clamp Rails of the 5000, 8000 and 8500 CMC models.
There is one Air Clamp in the Vertical Rail and two in the Horizontal Rails.
Just before cutting, the Air Clamps will inflate against the matboard to hold it in place while it is cutting.
After cutting, the Air Clamps will deflate so you can remove the matboard.

Connections:

The Air Clamps sit within the Air Clamp Rails of the 5000, 8000 and 8500 CMC models.
There is one Air Clamp in the Vertical Rail and two in the Horizontal Rails.
The Air Clamp is controlled by the Air Valve Assembly located in the Gantry and the ECU/Driver Pack signals.

Troubleshooting:

If the matboard is being pushed aside when you try to cut because the Air Clamps are not inflating:
- Make sure that the Air Compressor is on.
If the Air Clamps are not inflating, listen for an air leak in the clamp.
- If there is air leaking, the Air Clamp needs to be replaced.
If the Air Clamps are not inflating and there is no sound of an air leak:
- Check the Air Compressor and make sure it is on.
- Check the air lines to make sure they are not kinked.
- Are the connection cables for the ECU/Driver Pack, Gantry, Computer and Control Panel (if appropriate) on tight?
- Turn off the ECU/Driver Pack close the software. Turn on the ECU/Driver Pack restart the software.
- Check the Clamp Actuator Valve in the Air Valve Assembly located in the Gantry.
  - The Air Valve Assembly may need to be replaced.
