Driver Pack 80 Volt Drivers Installation: CMC 8000 and 8500 Series

Problem/Purpose

Problem/Purpose

  • The new 80 Volt Driver Packs now have a new USB controller.

  • The old one is TI and the new one is FTDI.

  • The MatDesigner software prompts you to close the Found New Hardware Wizard, in which doing so prevents the full install of the drivers.

  • New drivers are to be installed with the 5.4.1. and 5.5.1.

  • If the Drivers are not installed, the data light will not blink or come on, and the Driver Pack will appear to be bad when connected to the PC.

Identifiers

Identifiers

  • The serial number range for the 80V Driver Packs with the new FTDI controller chip is 85950 - 86100.

  • You can identify these units visually by looking at the Serial Number sticker on the Driver Pack.

  • The letter B under Rev: indicates the unit has the FTDI chip installed.

  • Make sure that you have the 5.4.1. or 5.5.1. MatDesigner CD.

  • If you no longer have the CD, please call Wizard.
