ECU Power Off and On Specifics: All Current CMC Models
This page describes how to properly Power Off and Power On the ECU to perform a full reset.
The ECU is the signal amplifier that controls the CMC.
Normally, the ECU should remain powered on while the Wizard software is running.
The CMC motors are synchronized with the software and may lose their position if the ECU is powered down during operation.
If the ECU is powered off unexpectedly, reboot the ECU and restart the software to resynchronize the motors.
The software will resynchronize the motor position for the next cut when you Align the Head again.
The best practice is to shut down the Computer and ECU at the end of each day.
If you suddenly experience any strange issues with the mat cutter, Power Down and Restart both the ECU and the Computer, making sure to turn on the ECU first.
Turning off the ECU
Click the Release Motors Button on the Cut Preview Screen.
Click OK to the Release the Motors prompt if displayed.
Grasp the Head and click OK, then manually bring the Head back to the Home position.
Power off the ECU.
Close the FrameShop software.
Shut down the Computer (optional)
Turning on the ECU
Power on the ECU.
Turn on the Computer (if powered down).
Open FrameShop.
After restarting the system, it is important to turn on the ECU before opening the FrameShop software.
The software needs to see the ECU when it starts up.
