Finger Clamps for Zero Waste: CMC Z Series
This page provides hardware support and troubleshooting for the Finger Clamps on the CMC Z Series Board which allows you to cut with zero waste.
Interference Check
The CMC will do an interference check to see if any of the Finger Clamps are in the way of the current cut sequence.
If any of the Clamps will interfere with the current cutting operation, the LED light adjacent to each interfering Clamp will turn red and will also be highlighted in red on the Cut Preview screen.
The interfering Clamps will need to first be rotated 180º so they may retract into the Board out of the way before you are able to cut the mat.
When you click Cut, the Interference Screen will also indicate which Clamps need to be rotated out of the way.
To rotate a Clamp out of the way, first push it in toward the board to release the air pressure.
Then simply rotate the Clamp 180º so that it may retract into the Board.
When the Clamps are engaged, they will be retracted flush with the Board.
Click Continue on the Interference Screen.
It will perform the interference check again to make sure that all of the Clamps have been correctly rotated.
Once it passes the interference check, it will continue to the Alignment Screen.
For the next cutting job, the Clamps should be rotated back toward the center of the Board.
