Take Picture in Visualize

Click the Take Picture button to open the Camera Capture screen where you can take a picture from a Camera or twain device attached to your computer.

If you have more than one camera connected, select the desired Camera from the camera dropdown control on the Camera Capture screen. 

Click Options on the Camera Capture screen to view the Options for the camera selected. 

Select Options > Rotate Image 180 Degrees to rotate the image 180 Degrees.

Click Take Picture on the Camera Capture Screen to take the picture with this setting and it will rotate the image 180 Degrees before placing it on the Editor.

Select Options > Image Resolutions > Select Desired Resolution to set the Resolution Size for the image you are taking.

• The largest size is listed at the top.

Click Take Picture on the Camera Capture Screen to take the picture with this setting.

If the selected camera has an Electronic Zoom Capability, the Zoom Slider will be available. 

Note that a Fixed Focal Length lens or a Manual Zoom is not an Electronic Zoom Function.

Slide the Zoom Control until you are satisfied with the preview display.

• Move slider Right to Zoom In

• Move slider Left to Zoom Out

After Zooming In, you can click on the scrollbars to move the Focus of the camera.

Select the Use Color Profile checkbox.

Select the desired Color Profile from the Color Profile dropdown control. 

NOTE: Color Profile are applied to the Image on the Visualize Editor – the color profiles are not applied to the Camera Capture Preview Screen.

Instead of using a Color Profile, you also have the option of adjusting the Camera Settings Manually.

To adjust the Camera Settings Manually, have Use Color Profile unchecked. 

Move the sliders for the individual settings before taking the photo. Any unavailable webcam settings for your particular camera are grayed out.

These are the manual settings available for the Wink camera.

If a setting is not available for the current camera, it will be grayed out.

Move the Brightness slider to the Right to make the image Brighter.

Move the Brightness slider to the Left to make the image Darker.

Contrast is the difference in brightness between the Light and Dark areas of the picture.

• Move the Contrast slider to the Right to Increase the Contrast.

• Move the Contrast slider to the Left to Decrease the Contrast.

Saturation is the Intensity or Purity of a Color. It is measured as a percentage from 0% (Grayscale) to 100% (Pure Color). A Saturated color is not diluted with White or mixed with other Colors. It is produced by a single wavelength or narrow band of wavelengths of light. Saturation is independent of the lightness level or the surroundings of the Color. As the Saturation Increases, the colors appear to be more Pure. As the Saturation Decreases, the colors appear to be more Washed-Out or Pale.

• Move the Saturation slider to the Right to Increase the Saturation (Brighter Colors).

• Move the Saturation slider to the Left to Decrease the Saturation (more Black and White and less color).

Gamma is how Smoothly Black Transitions to White on a Digital Display. The Gamma value represents the extent of the Curve from Black to White or from White to Black.

• Move the Gamma slider to the Right to Increase the Gamma.

• Move the Gamma slider to the Left to Decrease the Gamma.

White Balance establishes the true Color of White, which produces a baseline from which all other Colors are measured. White Balance refers to the adjustment of the relative amounts of Red, Green, and Blue primary colors in an image such that neutral colors are reproduced correctly.

• Move the White Balance slider to the Right to Increase the White Balance.

• Move the White Balance slider to the Left to Decrease the White Balance.

Exposure is the amount of light that reaches your camera sensor or film. Exposure affects how Bright or Dark your pictures appear and how much Detail you capture in the Highlights and Shadows.

• Move the Exposure slider to the Right to Increase the Exposure.

• Move the Exposure slider to the Left to Decrease the Exposure.

These are the Manual settings available for the Canon camera.

White Balance establishes the true Color of White, which produces a baseline from which all other Colors are measured. White Balance refers to the adjustment of the relative amounts of Red, Green, and Blue primary colors in an image such that neutral colors are reproduced correctly.

• Select the desired White Balance from dropdown control.

Exposure Compensation is the amount of light that reaches your camera sensor or film. Exposure affects how Bright or Dark your pictures appear and how much Detail you capture in the Highlights and Shadows.

• Select the Exposure Compensation value desired for the camera.

Metering Mode refers to the way the Camera measures the Brightness of the subject, which is used to calculate the right exposure combination to achieve a properly exposed image.

• Select the appropriate Metering Mode from the dropdown control.

ISO Speed refers to the camera sensor’s Sensitivity to Light. The higher the ISO speed, the more light-sensitive it is.

• Select the desired ISO Speed for the camera.

Click the Take Picture button to take the picture with the current camera and selected settings. 

The image is displayed in the Visualize Editor screen.
