New Guide

Use the Guide button to place a Guide Line to be used for the Alignment of objects.

New Guide places a Guide Line on the Editor you can use when aligning objects.

Click on one of the Rulers and drag the cursor out onto the editor to place a Guide. 

Click and drag on an existing Guide if you need to drag it elsewhere.

Optionally, use the Properties Tab to enter a new position for an existing Guide.

Click the New Guide button.

Select the desired direction and placement to place a Guide onto the Editor.

To place a guide a specified distance from an object, select the object.

Select New Guide From Other.

Select the desired direction to place the guide in relation to the selected object by clicking the associated checkbox. 

Enter the distance in the distance field and click OK.

The Guide is placed and openings can be moved and snapped to the Guide line.

Auto Alignment

If Auto Alignment is on, blue alignment lines will display when an object is aligned to another object, which helps make positioning objects quick and easy. 

Auto Alignment can be toggled on the Edit Menu.
