Location Tab

The Location tab allows the user to specify the desired position on the board to cut the current design. This is helpful when calibrating, avoiding flaws in the matboard, reusing scraps, etc.

X and Y Origin

Use the X Origin (Horizontal) and Y Origin (Vertical) fields to specify the location to cut the current mat.

Enter a new or Y Origin value and tab out of the field.

It will move the lower left corner of the current design to the new X/Y position on the Cut Preview Screen.

Previous cuts are displayed in grey to help the user position the current design on the screen.

To clear the previous cuts from the screen, see Clear Cut History.

Matboard Size

The size of the matboard is entered on the Setup Tab on the Sheet Size fields.

Enter the desired matboard sheet size on the Setup Tab on the Sheet Size field.

The software will use the matboard size as the maximum limitation when tiling mats and when moving mats with the Location Tab.

Set the Default for Tiling

The default setting for Tiling can be set in the Admin > Cutting section.

Enable Auto Clamp Offset

Select Enable Auto Clamp Offset checkbox to move the design up and over on the matboard to avoid the clamp area on the CMC 9000z and Z1, similar to the Enable Rail Dodge below.

Check the Enable Auto Clamp Offset checkbox.

Enter the distance to move the design in the X Origin field; the Y Origin field uses the same number value.

It will move the lower left corner of the design to the new X/Y position and it will display Dodge on the bottom of the screen.

This feature is also turned on by selecting Full from the Outside Cut Options dropdown control.

Disable Auto Clamp Offset

Disabling the Auto Clamp Offset will cut the design normally without being offset into the mat on the CMC 9000z and Z1.

Uncheck the Enable Auto Clamp Offset checkbox.

The design will no longer be offset on the CMC 9000z and Z1 and will cut the design normally unless values have been entered in the X Origin and Y Origin fields as described above.

Set the Default for the Enable Auto Clamp Offset

The default setting for the Enable Auto Clamp Offset for the CMC 9000z and Z1 can be set in the Admin > Cutting section.

Enable Rail Dodge

The Enable Rail Dodge checkbox will move the design up and over on the matboard to avoid the clamping area on the CMC 8000 and 9000.

Check the Enable Rail Dodge checkbox to use a Rail Dodge on CMC 8000 and 9000.

A Rail Dodge is a small piece of matboard or other material used to position the pre-cut matboard up into the cutting area when using borders less than 1.5" and not cutting the outside.

Enter the distance to move the design in the X Origin field; the Y Origin field uses the same number value.

It will move the lower left corner of the design to the new X/Y position and it will display Dodge on the bottom of the screen.

Note: The outside cut is shown here merely for visual reference of where the pre-cut matboard will be positioned on the board. This feature can also be used to move the design to avoid flaws in the matboard.

Disable Rail Dodge

Disabling the Rail Dodge will now cut the designs normally without being offset up and over on the mat.

Uncheck the Enable Rail Dodge checkbox.

The design will no longer be offset on the CMC 8000 and 9000 and will cut the design normally unless values have been entered in the X Origin and Y Origin fields as described above

Set the Default for the Rail Dodge

The default setting for the Rail Dodge can be set in the Admin > Cutting section.

Move Origin Arrows

Use the origin arrows to move the current design on the cut preview screen by the same width/height of the design to where you would it to cut. This allows you to cut consecutive mats when calibrating, or using up scrap mats, etc.

The Move Origin Arrows (Up, Down, Left or Right) moves the current design by a full design's width or height in the direction of the arrow.

The design's width or height also includes the outside dimension.

For example, clicking the right arrow will move the design over the same width of the design to the right, so that it can be cut right next to the previous cut that was made with this design.

Home Button

The Home button will return the current design back to the home position on the cut preview screen after cutting it elsewhere on the board.

Click the Home button.

The current design will be returned to the home position on the Cutting Preview Screen.

Clear Cut History Button

Use the Clear Cut History button to clear the previously cut mats from the Cut Preview screen.

Click the Clear Cut History button.

The previous cuts on the screen, usually drawn out in grey, are erased.

This is helpful when the location of the previous cuts is a distraction, or you no longer need them as a reference when moving the location of the current design to cut.
