Layers

  • The Layers section displays the mat layers of the project with the currently selected layer highlighted. 

  • The Top mat Layer is always displayed at the top of the Layers list.

  • Default Settings: See Admin > Defaults for the default settings for the Layer Direction.

Layer Direction in Trace

Layer Direction: Top Down

  • Take note that the Layer Direction of Bottom Up or Top Down controls how the mat layers are numbered in Trace. 

    • The Top mat layer is always displayed at the top of the Layers list.  

    • Layer direction Top Down counts down from the top mat.

    • In this example, the top mat is labeled Layer 1, and the next layer down is labeled Layer 2, and the bottom mat is Labeled as Layer 3.

  • Layer Direction: Bottom Up is the preferred direction.

    • When you Offset an object to create another layer, that new layer will be the Top layer.

  • Layer Direction: Top Down is not recommended.

    • When you Offset an object to create another layer, that new layer will be the Bottom layer, even though it is larger than the original object.

Current Layer

  • The current layer is highlighted. 

  • To select a different layer, click on the associated Layer Number in the layers section. 

  • The Traced information on that layer will be displayed.

  • If it is not Traced, the untraced information will reside on Layer 1.

  • Edit as desired.

 Traced Definition

Tracing the Design provides the Bevel Type and other necessary information to the Vector design in order to either Cut or apply with a Non-Blade Tool on the CMC.

The Set Bevels Tab in Trace contains the tools needed to Trace the design.

Add

  • Click the Add button to add a new layer. 

  • Click on the new layer to select it.

  • Trace the desired objects onto that layer.

 Traced Definition

Remove

  • Click the Remove button to delete the selected layer. 

  • The Layer is removed.

  • If there is Traced information on that layer, it will be moved up to the next Layer.
