Trace the Design

Before Tracing the design, take note that the Layer Direction of Bottom Up or Top Down controls how the mat layers are numbered in Trace.

The Top mat layer is always displayed at the top of the Layers list.  

Layer direction Top Down counts down from the top mat.

The Top Mat is labeled Layer 1, and the Next Layer down is labeled Layer 2, and in this example, the Bottom Mat is labeled as Layer 3.
