Before Tracing the Design: A Note About Layer Direction
Before Tracing the design, take note that the Layer Direction of Bottom Up or Top Down controls how the mat layers are numbered in Trace. Default Settings: See Admin > Defaults for the default settings for the Layer Direction.
Layer Direction: Top Down The Top mat layer is always displayed at the top of the Layers list. Layer direction Top Down counts down from the top mat. The Top Mat is labeled Layer 1, and the Next Layer down is labeled Layer 2, and in this example, the Bottom Mat is labeled as Layer 3.

The Bevel Type refers to the angle at which the blade cuts the surface of the matboard when it deviates from the 90° right angle cut. A Cartridge is the physical component that holds the Blade, Deboss Stylus, Pen or other application tool.
