Cartridges Involved

This Configuration element involves the following Cartridges.

Note: Not all cartridges are available for all CMC models.

Deboss Wide Configurations

  • The Blue Deboss Wide Cartridge presses a wide stylus into the matboard to create a subtle design.

  • This is viewed from the front of the mat.

Select the Deboss Wide Cartridge Type

  • Select the Deboss Tab on the Configurations screen.  

  • Select the Wide-Blue cartridge from the Cartridge dropdown control.

Select the Area of Concern for Wide Deboss Below:

  • Be sure to select the Deboss Wide from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control.

Deboss-Wide is Applied to the Wrong Place Horizontally

Problem:

  • The Deboss-Wide is Applied to the Wrong Place Horizontally.

Resolution:

  • If too far left, increase the Horizontal Adjustment.

  • If too far right, decrease the Horizontal Adjustment.

  • See Horizontal Adjustment for additional information.

  • The Horizontal Home controls where the opening is cut Horizontally.

Deboss-Wide is Applied to the Wrong Place Vertically 

Problem:

  • The Deboss-Wide is Applied to the Wrong Place Vertically.

Resolution:

  • If too far down, increase the Vertical Adjustment.

  • If too far up, decrease the Vertical Adjustment.

  • See Vertical Adjustment for additional information.

  • The Vertical Home controls specifically where the opening is cut Vertically.

Deboss-Wide is the Wrong Size

Problem:

  • The Deboss-Wide is the Wrong Size.

Resolution:

  • If cut too small, increase the Opening Adjustment.

  • If cut too large, decrease the Opening Adjustment.

  • See Opening Adjustment for additional information.

  • The Opening Adjustment controls the size of the opening.

Deboss-Wide Applied at the Wrong Depth

Problem:

  • The Deboss-Wide is Applied at the Wrong Depth.

Resolution:

  • Cut too shallow, increase the Depth Setting.

  • Cut too deep, decrease the Depth Setting.

  • See Depth Setting for additional information.

  • The Depth Setting sets the proper Blade Depth for the Deboss Cartridge.

Deboss-Wide Cartridge Tears the Mat 

Problem:

  • Deboss-Wide Cartridge Tears the Mat.

Resolution:

  • Increase the Corner Pause.

  • See Corner Pause for additional information.

  • The Corner Pause controls the amount of time, in milliseconds, to pause the application of the non-blade tools in the corners to avoid tearing the mat.

Deboss-Wide Lines are too Long

Problem:

  • The Deboss-Wide Lines are too Long.

Resolution:

  • Decrease the Overshoot.

  • See Overshoot for additional information.

  • The Overshoot controls how far past each segment the non-blade tool (Deboss, Pen or Vinyl) is applied.

Deboss-Wide Lines are too Short 

Problem:

  • The Deboss-Wide Lines are too Short.

Resolution:

  • Increase the Overshoot.

  • See Overshoot for additional information.

  • The Overshoot controls how far past each segment the non-blade tool (Deboss, Pen or Vinyl) is applied.

Deboss-Wide Set to Plunge Between Segments

Problem:

  • The Deboss-Wide Set to Plunge Between Segments.

Resolution:

  • Select Plunge to plunge the Deboss between Segments.

  • See Plunge for additional information.

  • The Plunge controls whether to Plunge/Unplunge between segments of an object when applying a non-blade Tool (Deboss, Pen or Vinyl).
