VG Width

VG Width on the V-Groove parameters determines if the V-Groove is a Closed or Open V-Groove.

Closed V-Groove has a VG Width of 0 (zero) and cuts from the front of the mat.

Anything larger than zero for the VG Width is an Open V-Groove, which can be cut from the front or the back of the mat.

Open V-Groove

Anything larger than zero for the VG Width is an Open V-Groove, which can be cut from the front or the back of the mat.

Enter the desired VG Width.

The V-Groove adjusts to the new width.

NOTE: This is not where to adjust the closed V-Groove width if it is cutting too narrow or too wide. See Width Adjustment for adjusting the V-Groove cutting width.

Distance

The Distance is the space between the V-Groove and the object the V-Groove is attached to in the Attach To field.

If the V-Groove is not attached to anything, the Distance field is grayed out.

NOTE: Offsetting the V-Groove from an object when initially placing the V-Groove does not automatically attach the V-Groove to that object.

Changing the Distance number will offset the V-Groove the new distance from the object it is attached to

If the object is resized, the V-Groove is also resized proportionately and remains the Distance entered in the distance field from the object it is attached to.

Attach To

If you resize the item that the V-Groove is attached to (opening or mat), the V-Groove is resized proportionately and remains the same distance entered in the Distance field from the object it is attached to.

NOTE: Offsetting the V-Groove from an object when initially placing the V-Groove does not automatically attach the V-Groove to that object.
