The 45°+ Reverse Bevel Drop is created by cutting into the thicker fallout surface with the blade angled at 45°, thereby slanting the bevel under the fallout surface.

The matboard core is not visible from the front.

The Bevel Type refers to the angle at which the blade cuts the surface of the matboard when it deviates from the 90° right angle cut.

The Bevel Type determines the initial blade plunge position.

The Drop is one of the categories within certain opening styles, like the initial section cut of an Open V-Groove. However, it cannot be chosen as a standalone bevel type within Designer.The Bevel Type refers to the angle at which the blade cuts the surface of the matboard when it deviates from the 90° right angle cut.

Select Reverse Drop or Reverse Drop-Front of Mat from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control to edit this configuration.

The 45°+ Reverse Bevel Open V-Groove involves two symmetrical cuts: one in the fallout and a corresponding cut in the matboard, both forming a mirrored arrangement a specified distance apart.

The matboard core is not visible but the lower layer matboard is visible from the front.

First Cut: Cuts the Interior cut into the Fallout Clockwise: Reverse Bevel Drop*.

Second Cut: Cuts the Exterior cut into the Matboard Counter-Clockwise: Reverse Bevel Opening.

Cutting from the Front will cut with the face of the mat toward the operator, and can be selected on the Cutting Preview.

• On the Configurations screen the Current Bevel Type dropdown control will display the bevel types in this manner:

  • Cut from the Back bevel type names will be displayed with no further label; i.e., Normal Bevel.

  • Cut from the Front bevel type names will be displayed with a Front label; i.e., Normal Bevel-Front of Mat.

  • V-Grooves have their own selection on the list.

If you are cutting an element that must be applied to the front of the mat, such as a V-Groove or Pen design, any openings on that layer will also cut from the front and use the Front of Mat configuration item; i.e., Normal Bevel - Front of Mat.

So if you are having problems with a Normal Bevel cut on the same layer as a V-Groove, make sure you select Normal Bevel-Front of Mat to edit the configurations for that opening.  

When adjusting Configurations, click the Plus (Increase) or Minus (Decrease) button on the desired field about five times.

Click OK and do another test cut.

Continue making adjustments until the desired outcome is achieved.

The Depth Bias is used to calculate the properBlade Depth when the SKUselected for the matboard contains the Matboard Thickness.

The formula is: [(Default Depth) - 10]

For example, if the normal Blade Depth for 4-ply is 11, then 11-10=1, so enter 1 for the Depth Bias.

A Swoop in a Drop is where the corners Curve Inward toward the drop.

If the Drop has a Swoop, Increase the Rotation.
