CutArt Properties

  • Click on the CutArt to select it and click on the Properties Tab to edit it.

  • Use CutArt Properties to edit the individual proprietary adjustments available for the CutArt.

  • Optionally: Right-Click on the CutArt and select Properties.

  • Default Settings: See Admin > Editor for the default settings to Enforce Minimum Sizes for CutArt/LetterMat.

 CutArt Definition

CutArt™ are simple shapes and design elements created by Wizard that can be added to designs.

CutArts can be applied to your current design and edited, such as resizing and rotating.

They can be Cut, Debossed, Penned or cut on Vinyl.

CutArt Opening 

Name

  • The name of the current CutArt is displayed in the Name field. 

Label

  • Enter the desired text in the Label field.

  • The label will be displayed on the CutArt opening. 

  • Default Settings: See Admin > Editor for the default setting of whether or not to Auto Label Multi Openings.

Change to a Different CutArt

  • Click on the desired CutArt and click on the Properties tab to access the CutArt Properties, and click Change CutArt.

CutArts can be applied to your current design and edited, such as resizing and rotating.

They can be Cut, Debossed, Penned or cut on Vinyl.

  • Click on the appropriate Shortcut where the new CutArt is located and click on the desired CutArt.

  • Optionally, click the Computer tab to select the CutArt directly from your computer.

  • The new CutArt is placed on the Editor.

Dimensions

  • Enter the CutArt Width

  • Enter the CutArt Height

  • Default Settings: See Admin > Editor for the default settings to Enforce Minimum Sizes for CutArt/LetterMat.

 Sizes Button Definition

The Sizes Button displays the Recent and Standard sizes. 

Recent lists the last ten sizes entered.

Standard lists Standard sizes associated with the current unit of measurement.

 Swap Button Definition

The Swap Button switches the values between the width and height fields.

Lock or Unlock CutArt Size

  • Lock the size of the object to avoid adjusting it when dragging the mouse.

  • Click Unlock to Lock the size of the current object. 

  • Click Locked to Unlock the size of the current object.

 Lock Object Size Definition

Use the Lock/Unlock feature to prevent the size of the opening from being changed by accidentally dragging the control corners with the mouse in Designer.

X and Y Position Fields

  • Use the X/Y Position fields to move objects to specific Horizontal/Vertical coordinates.

    • Lines shown for illustration.

  • Enter the new X position to move the selected object Horizontally.

  • Enter the new Y to move the selected object Vertically.

 X Position Definition

The X Position field is used to set or display the Horizontal position of the selected object in Designer, Trace and the Cut Preview. 

 Y Position Definition

The Y Position field is used to set or display the Vertical position of the selected object in Designer, Trace and the Cut Preview. 

Rotation Entry Field

  • Enter the desired Degree of Rotation for the selected object.

  • The selected object will pivot from the center point.  


 Rotation Definition

The Rotation function in Designer is the action of rotating the selected object(s) around an axis or center by the specified number of degrees.

Minimum Width and Height

Min Width 

  • The Original CutArt Width is displayed in the Min Width field.  

Min Height 

  • The Original CutArt Height is displayed in the Min Height field.

  • Cutting CutArts smaller than the Minimum Size is not recommended, and may give unexpected results.

  • CutArts can be Debossed or Penned much smaller than they can be cut.

  • Default Settings: See Admin > Editor for the default settings to Enforce Minimum Sizes for CutArt/LetterMat.

 Min Height and Width Definition

Min Height displays the Minimum Height that the selected CutArt or LetterMat has been tested to cut.

The CutArt/LetterMat can be Debossed or Penned at a much smaller size than it can be cut.

CutArt Options

  • Use the CutArt Options section to select Mirror, set KAR and Use Original Size for the CutArt.

Mirror the CutArt

  • Mirror flips the CutArt Horizontally.

  • Click on the CutArt.

  • Check Mirror the CutArt checkbox to flip the CutArt Horizontally.

  • For Additional Information: To flip the design Vertically, see Rotation above.

 Mirror Definition

The Mirror/wiki/spaces/FrameShop8x/pages/1942694450function will create a Mirror copy of the selected object along the selected axis in Trace and Designer and mirror the image horizontally in Visualize.

  • The CutArt is mirrored Horizontally

  • For Additional Information: To flip the design Vertically, see Rotation above.

Keep Aspect Ratio

  • For best results, it is recommended to have KAR checked to avoid skewing the CutArt.

 KAR Definition

Keep Aspect Ratio (KAR) keeps the CutArt, Image, LetterMat, etc. Height and Width proportionate to avoid distortion in Designer.

  • The CutArt will remain Height/Width proportionate when resized.

Use Original Size

  • The Use Original Size button to reset the CutArt to the Original Size it was drawn. 

  • Cutting CutArts smaller than the Minimum Size is not recommended, and may give unexpected results.

  • CutArts can be Debossed or Penned much smaller than they can be cut.

Cartridge Selection and Type

  • Click the Cartridge Icon and select the desired cartridge for the current layer.

 Cartridge Definition

A Cartridge is the physical component that holds the Blade, Deboss Stylus, Pen or other application tool.

  • When applicable, select the desired Cartridge Type from the Type dropdown control. 

  • Selections available are dependent upon the Cartridge selected.

Explode CutArt

  • When a CutArt is placed, it is a single object.

  • The individual elements cannot be moved separately until the CutArt is Exploded or it is brought into Trace to further edit.

  • Explode the CutArt to move the separate elements of the CutArt individually.

The Trace utility is a Vector-Based drawing graphic program for editing/creating Vectors to either Cut or apply with a Non-Blade Tool on the CMC.

Exploding the CutArt

  • Select the desired CutArt.

  • Click Explode CutArt on the Advanced tab to break it up into the individual letters.

  • For Additional information: Right-Click on the CutArt in the Design editor and select Explode CutArt.

  • The CutArt will be broken up into Individual Segments which can be edited separately.
