  • When Cut the Outside is selected, the matboard displays as a Solid Color.

  • Default Settings: See Admin > Editor to set the default of whether or not to Cut the Outside.

 Outside Bevel Definition

The Outside Bevel is created by cutting into the fallout surface with the blade angled at 45°/52°, thereby slanting the bevel under the fallout surface. The matboard core is not visible from the front.

The Bevel Type refers to the angle at which the blade cuts the surface of the matboard when it deviates from the 90° right angle cut.

Select Outside or Outside-Front of Mat from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control to edit this configuration.

Not Cutting the Outside

  • Unselect the Cut the Outside to not cut the outside of the mat.

  • The Z1 and Z(9000z) will not display an uncuttable region because of the zero waste clamping system, unless the matboard dimensions entered are larger than the machine can physically cut (see The Uncuttable Region on Designs That are Too Big below).

  • Do not place objects into the uncuttable region unless you select Cut the Outside or use the Auto Offset.

  • Default Settings: See Admin > Editor to set the default of whether or not to Cut the Outside.

 Auto Offset Definition

The Auto Offset moves the design up and over on the Cut Preview to avoid the Clamp area.

This is to overcome the Border Limitation of 1.25"/3.2 cm on the Cut Preview.
