Cut the Outside Toggle

Use the Cut the Outside toggle to select cutting or not cutting the outside of the mat on the non-CMC 9000z.  

For the outside cut options for the 9000z, see Outside Cut Options.

Cut the Outside On 

Click the Cut Outside toggle On to cut the outside of the mat. 

Click the Cut Outside toggle On to cut the outside of the mat.

The outside of the mat will be cut. 

Cut the Outside Off

Click the Cut Outside toggle Off to not cut the outside of the mat.

Click the Cut Outside toggle Off to not cut the outside of the mat.

The outside of the mat will not be cut.

Set the Default for Cutting the Outside 

The default setting for Cutting the Outside can be set in the Admin > Editor section.

Set the Default for 90 Degree Outside Cut

The default setting for 90 Degree Outside can be set in the Admin > Cutting section. Note that the CMC 8000 cannot support cutting with the 90 Degree Outside.

Rail Dodge

If your borders are less than 1.5" and you are not not cutting the outside on your CMC 9000 or 8000, you will need to either select to Cut the Outside, or use a Rail Dodge. You can also use the Rail Dodge to avoid flaws in the matboard.

Note: The outside cut is shown here merely for reference.

Set the Default for the Rail Dodge

The default setting for the Rail Dodge can be set in the Admin > Cutting section.

Enable Auto Clamp Offset

Select Enable Auto Clamp Offset checkbox to move the design up and over on the matboard to avoid the clamp area on the CMC Z1 and 9000z, similar to the Rail Dodge below.

Check the Enable Auto Clamp Offset checkbox.  

Enter the distance to move the design in the X Origin field; the Y Origin field uses the same number value. 

The whole design will move up and over the distance entered. 

This feature is also turned on by selecting Full from the Outside Cut Options dropdown control.

Set the Default for the Enable Auto Clamp Offset

The default setting for the Enable Auto Clamp Offset for the CMC Z1 and 9000z can be set in the Admin > Cutting section.
