Interior Overcut on Drops

The Interior Overcut is where the cut continues into the corner before retracting the blade from the fallout of the opening, such as when cutting a French Stair.

Interior Cuts cut into the fallout of the opening, not the matboard.

Current Drop Bevel Type

Select the desired Cartridge Tab and then the bevel type you want to edit from the Current Bevel Type dropdown control before making adjustments. Select Current Bevel Type-Front of Mat if it is being cut from the front of the mat.

White Arrow on the Configuration Map

The Interior Overcut is displayed on the Configuration Map and on the associated field as a white arrow.

Check against the Configuration Map of the Bevel Type you are cutting to determine specifically which cuts are the Interior Overcuts.

Interior Cuts, such as on French Stairs, cut into the fallout of the opening, not the matboard.

Drop Interior Overcut Too Long

This is viewed from the front of the mat. If the Interior Overcuts retracts the blade too late, it makes the interior overcut too long.

Decrease the Interior Overcut

The corners will now meet up properly.

When making adjustments, click either the minus or plus button (-/+) at the end of the desired field about five or six times in the direction indicated. Click OK and do a test cut. Check the results of the cut and continue making adjustments until the desired outcome is achieved.

Drop Interior Overcut Too Short

This is viewed from the front of the mat. If the Interior Overcuts retracts the blade too soon, it makes the interior overcut too short.

Increase the Interior Overcut

The corners will now meet up properly.

When making adjustments, click either the minus or plus button (-/+) at the end of the desired field about five or six times in the direction indicated. Click OK and do a test cut. Check the results of the cut and continue making adjustments until the desired outcome is achieved.

Drop Exterior Overcut

This is viewed from the front of the mat. For Overcuts where the blade comes out of the matboard instead of the fallout, see Exterior Overcut.
