Configs | |
---|---|
Click Configs button to open the configuration screen. | |
The configuration screen is where to make adjustments to how the CMC cuts, including backups, overcuts, and opening adjustments. Alternatively, click the Board Configurations button on the main screen. Configurations are explained in greater depth in the Configurations manual. The following information is a quick overview. | |
Menu Bar File Save Configurations Save the current configuration. Load Configurations Load a saved configuration. Reset Configurations Reset configurations back to the factory settings. Close Close the configurations screen. Factory Configs The factory configs are set at the factory, and are not editable by the user. | |
Current Bevel Type MatDesigner software uses configurations matching the bevel type being cut. A reverse bevel cut from the front of the mat uses the configuration Reverse Bevel - Front of Mat. Click the dropdown control and select the desired bevel to be edited. Available bevel types:
| |
Exterior Backup Exterior Backup is where blade plunges into matboard. Increase cuts longer, decrease cuts shorter. Exterior Overcut Exterior Overcut is where blade comes out of matboard. Increase cuts longer, decrease cuts shorter. Interior Backup Interior Backup is where blade plunges in on fallout (i.e., French Stairs). Increase cuts longer, decrease cuts shorter. Interior Overcut Interior Overcut is where blade comes out of fallout (i.e., French Stairs). Increase cuts longer, decrease cuts shorter. Opening Adjustment Opening Adjustment is width of opening. Increase makes opening wider, decrease makes smaller. Rotation Rotation is how much head rotates before cutting. Note V-Groove configuration has two rotation fields; inside and outside. | |
Depth Bias Depth Bias is used to calculate blade depth when a SKU has been selected for matboard in the matboard library that has a thickness setting. The depth bias is used in conjunction with the default depth for 4-ply and is: [(Default Depth) - 10] For instance, if the normal Blade Depth for 4-ply is 11, then 11-10=1, so enter 1 for the Depth Bias. | |
Plunge Count Plunge Count is the number of blade plunges before the CMC stops for a blade change. Each blade Cartridge configuration screen has an independent plunge count field. Enter the desired number of plunges for the specific Cartridge being edited in the configurations screen. | |
Select Plunge Count on the cut preview screen to enable the MatDesigner software to stop and prompt for a blade change. Unselect Plunge Count to manually manage blade changes. | |
The CMC stops after the number of plunges entered and prompts for a blade change. Change the blade and hit CTRL+S or click on the screen to continue cutting. |
Blade Depth Button | |
---|---|
Each time blade depth knob on the CMC is changed, the blade depth setting must be updated in the software. Click the blade depth button to access the blade depth screen. | |
Selecting the software blade depth automatically adjusts current configuration backups/overcuts to compensate for this mat thickness. Changing blade depth number in the software does not physically adjust blade depth knob. Because blade depth varies from CMC to CMC, the example displayed is just an illustration of blade depth setting. See Blade Depth Adjustment for more information. Apply New Depth to All Layers? Select Apply New Depth to All Layers to apply the new blade depth selection to all layers of the current mat. Opening Enter blade depth number under opening for cutting the current openings. V-Groove Enter blade depth number under V-Groove for cutting V-Groove depth. Set as Default Click Set as Default to make current blade depth the default setting for openings/V-Grooves. Remember: The blade depth knob number and the number in the software must match in order for the backups and overcuts to be properly adjusted. |
