Editing the Rotation on V-Grooves

 Outside Rotation for V-Grooves Definition

The Outside Rotation on Non-Oval V-Grooves controls for Swoops and Flares in the Outside Cut of the Non-Oval V-Grooves.

 Outside Swoop Definition

A Swoop in a Non-Oval V-Groove is where the corners Curve Inward toward the opening on either the Outside or Inside Cut of the V-Groove.

The Rotation on Non-Oval V-Grooves controls for Swoops or Flares on Non-Oval V-Grooves.

If the Outside Non-Oval V-Groove cuts with a Swoop, Decrease the Outside Rotation.

 Outside Flare Definition

A Flare in a Non-Oval V-Groove is where the corners Curve Away from the opening on either the Outside or Inside Cut of the V-Groove.

The Rotation on Non-Oval V-Grooves controls for Swoops or Flares on Non-Oval V-Grooves.

If the Outside Non-Oval V-Groove cuts with a Flare, Increase the Outside Rotation.

 How to Select the Bevel Type to Edit

Select desired Cartridge Tab

Select the desired Bevel Type from Current Bevel Type.

Edit the desired Configuration field.

Edit the Inside Rotation or Outside Rotation field, depending on which V-Groove line you are editing.

 How to Adjust the Outside Rotation

When adjusting Configurations, click the Plus (Increase) or Minus (Decrease) button on the desired field about five times.

Click OK and do another test cut.

Continue making adjustments until the desired outcome is achieved.

V-Groove Cutting Direction

First Cut of V-Groove:

  • Cuts the Interior V-Groove Line.

  • Cuts into Fallout, not the matboard.

  • Cuts Clockwise.

  • This uses the Inside Rotation.

Second Cut of V-Groove:

  • Cuts the Exterior V-Groove Line.

  • Cuts into Matboard, not the fallout.

  • Cuts Counter-Clockwise.

  • This uses the Outside Rotation.

V-Groove Outside has a Swoop

Problem:

  • Outside cut of the Non-Oval V-Groove has Swoops.

Resolution:
