Cartridges Involved

This Configuration element involves the following Cartridges.

Note: Not all cartridges are available for all CMC models.

Crease Cartridge Configurations

  • The Crease Cartridge creases the material to make folding it easier when making Boxes.

 Cartridge Definition

A Cartridge is the physical component that holds a Blade, Deboss Stylus, Pen or other application tool.

Crease Tab

  • Select the Deboss Tab on the Configurations screen. 

  • Select the Crease Cartridge.

Crease Exterior Backup is too Long

Problem:

  • The Crease Exterior Backup is Too Long.

  • This is viewed from the front of the mat.

Resolution:

 Exterior Backup Definition

The Exterior Backup controls where the Blade Plunges into the Matboard (not the Fallout) on the Exterior cut. 

The Exterior Backup field is marked with a Green Arrow on the Configuration screen and the Map illustration.

If the Exterior Backup is cut too Short, it can leave a Hook in the corner.

If the Exterior Backup is cut too Long, Decrease the Exterior Backup.

If the Exterior Backup is cut too Short, Increase the Exterior Backup.

Crease Exterior Backup is too Short

Problem:

  • The Crease Exterior Backup is Too Short.

  • This is viewed from the front of the mat.

Resolution:

 Exterior Backup Definition

The Exterior Backup controls where the Blade Plunges into the Matboard (not the Fallout) on the Exterior cut. 

The Exterior Backup field is marked with a Green Arrow on the Configuration screen and the Map illustration.

If the Exterior Backup is cut too Short, it can leave a Hook in the corner.

If the Exterior Backup is cut too Short, Increase the Exterior Backup.

Crease Exterior Overcut is too Long

Problem:

  • The Crease Exterior Overcut is applied Too Long.

  • This is viewed from the front of the mat.

Resolution:

 Exterior Overcut Definition

The Exterior Overcut controls where the Blade Retracts from the Matboard (not the Fallout) on the Exterior cut.

The Exterior Overcut field is marked with a Red Arrow on the Configuration screen and the Map illustration.

If the Exterior Overcut is cut too Long, Decrease the Exterior Overcut.

If the Exterior Overcut is cut too Short, Increase the Exterior Overcut.

Crease Exterior Overcut is too Short

Problem:

  • The Crease Exterior Overcut is applied Too Short.

  • This is viewed from the front of the mat.

Resolution:

If the Exterior Overcut is cut too Long, Decrease the Exterior Overcut.

If the Exterior Overcut is cut too Short, Increase the Exterior Overcut.

Crease is the Wrong Size

Problem:

  • Crease is applied at the Wrong Size.

  • This is viewed from the front of the mat.

Resolution:

 Opening Adjustment Definition

The Opening Adjustment controls the size of the Object cut or applied with non-blade cartridges.

If the Opening is cut too Large, Decrease the Opening Adjustment.

If the Opening is cut too Small, Increase the Opening Adjustment.

Crease is Applied at the Wrong Depth When Using a SKU

Problem:

  • The Crease is applied at the Wrong Depth When Using a SKU.

Resolution:

  • The Blade Depth is too Deep, Decrease the Depth Bias.

  • The Blade Depth is too Shallow, Increase the Depth Bias.

 Depth Bias Definition

The Depth Bias is used to calculate the proper Blade Depth when the SKU selected for the matboard contains the Matboard Thickness.

The formula is: [(Default Depth) - 10]

For example, if the normal Blade Depth for 4-ply is 11, then 11-10=1, so enter 1 for the Depth Bias.

 Troubleshooting Button Definition

The Troubleshooting Utility allows you to bring in a single opening and automatically selects the correct Cartridge tab and Bevel Type to configure.

Set up the Box Defaults for the Crease cartridge in the Admin Editor section of the software.
