Cartridges Involved

This Configuration element involves the following Cartridges.

Note: Not all cartridges are available for all CMC models.

Other Cartridge Adjustments

  • The Other Cartridge Adjustments section contains additional configuration fields for V-Grooves and for the non-blade Tool cartridges as described below.

Select the Cartridge Adjustment to be Edited:

Width Adjustment (V-Groove)

Problem:

  • The V-Groove width is cut too wide or too thin.

 V-Groove Width Adjustment Definition

The V-Groove Width Adjustment controls the width of the V-Groove.

Resolution:

  • The V-Groove is cutting too thin, increase the Width Adjustment.

  • The V-Groove is cutting too wide, decrease the Width Adjustment.

Outside Rotation (V-Groove) 

Problem:

  • The Outside cut of the Non-Oval V-Groove cuts with Swoops or Flares.

 Outside Rotation on Non-Oval V-Grooves Definition

The Outside Rotation on Non-Oval V-Grooves controls for Swoops and Flares in the outside cut of the Non-Oval V-Grooves.

Resolution:

  • The Outside cut of the non-oval V-Groove has Swoops, Decrease the Outside Rotation.

  • The Outside cut of the non-oval V-Groove has Flares, Increase the Outside Rotation value.

Inside Rotation (V-Groove) 

Problem:

  • The Inside cut of the Non-Oval V-Groove cuts with Swoops or Flares.

 Inside Rotation on Non-Oval V-Grooves Definition

The Inside Rotation on Non-Oval V-Grooves controls for Swoops and Flares in the inside cut of the Non-Oval V-Grooves.

Resolution:

  • The Inside cut of the non-oval V-Groove has Swoops, increase the Inside Rotation

  • The Inside cut of the non-oval V-Groove has Flares, decrease the Inside Rotation

Outside Oval Rotation (V-Groove)  

Problem:

  • The Outside cut of the Oval V-Groove cuts with Feathers or Bumps.

 Outside Oval Rotation for V-Grooves Definition

The Outside Oval Rotation for V-Grooves controls for Bumps or Feathers on an Oval V-Groove.

Resolution:

  • The Outside Cut of an Oval V-Groove cuts with a Bump, Decrease the Outside Oval Rotation.

  • The Outside Cut of an Oval V-Groove cuts with a Feather, Increase the Outside Oval Rotation.

Inside Oval Rotation (V-Groove)  

Problem:

 Inside Oval Rotation for V-Grooves Definition

The Inside Oval Rotation for V-Grooves controls for Bumps or Feathers on an Oval V-Groove.

Resolution:

  • The Inside cut of an Oval V-Groove cuts with a Bump, Increase the Inside Oval Rotation.

  • The Inside Cut of an Oval V-Groove cuts with a Feather, Decrease the Inside Oval Rotation.

Horizontal Adjustment (Tool Specific) 

Problem:

  • The Deboss, Pen or Vinyl Tool Object is applied in the wrong place Horizontally.

 Horizontal Adjustment Definition

The Horizontal Adjustment defines the global horizontal placement of objects applied with the non-blade cartridges.

Resolution:

  • The Tool line is applied too far to the left, Increase the Horizontal Adjustment.

  • The Tool line is applied too far to the right, Decrease the Horizontal Adjustment.

Vertical Adjustment (Tool Specific) 

Problem:

  • The Deboss, Pen or Vinyl Tool Object is applied in the wrong place Vertically.

 Vertical Adjustment Definition

The Vertical Adjustment defines the global vertical placement of objects applied with the non-blade cartridges.

Problem:

  • The Tool line is applied too far down, Increase the Vertical Adjustment to move the Tool.

  • The Tool line is applied too far up, Decrease the Vertical Adjustment.

Depth Setting (Tool Specific) 

Problem:

 Depth Setting Definition

The Depth Setting controls the Blade Depth for the non-blade Tools.

Resolution:

  • The Tool is applied too shallow, increase the Depth Setting.

  • The Tool is applied too deep, decrease the Depth Setting.

  • Adjust the optimum Depth Setting for the Deboss, Pen or Vinyl Tool.

Corner Pause (ms) (Tool Specific)  

Problem:

 Corner Pause Definition

The Corner Pause is the amount of time, in milliseconds, to pause the application of the Non-Blade Tools between segments.

Resolution:

  • The Tool is causing tearing in the corners, Increase the Corner Pause

  • The Tool is taking too long to apply, Decrease the Corner Pause.

Overshoot (Tool Specific) 

Problem:

  • The Deboss, Pen or Vinyl Tool line is applied too long or too short.

 Overshoot Definition

The Overshoot controls how far past the end of the segment to apply the Tool.

Resolution:

  • The Overshoot is too long, Decrease the Overshoot.

  • The Overshoot is too short, Increase the Overshoot.

Plunge (Tool Specific) 

Problem:

 Plunge Definition

The Plunge controls whether to Plunge or Unplunge between segments of an object when applying a non-blade Tool.

Resolution:

  • The Tool is leaving a dot where the Tool is plunged, Unselect Plunge. 

  • The Tool is taking too long to apply, Select Plunge.

Install Pen  

Problem:

  • How to calibrate the Pen Tool.

 Pen Definition

The Pen Tool allows you to draw on the matboard surface.

Resolution:

  • The Install Pen utility is used to calibrate the system for different Pens.
