Using Color Profiles

Create and use color profiles which takes into account color, lighting, and other variables specific to the camera location.  Several color profiles can be created and used, such as for lighting changes during the course of the day (i.e., morning, afternoon, sunny, cloudy).

NOTE: Color profiles are applied to the image taken by the camera, not to the camera preview. Color profiles are not necessary with cameras that provide auto white balance.

NOTE: If you are using a Wink Camera, select the Wizard Wink Camera checkbox in the Administrator > Editor section to display the Wink camera settings.

Set up the Monitor Colors

Set up the monitor colors so that it is displaying the correct colors for the artwork, moulding and mats.

Have the color chart in hand.

The color chart is displayed on the screen. This screen can be maximized if desired.

Adjust the monitor settings to match the display to your printed chart.

Click OK to close the color chart when done.

Create a Color Profile

Create a color profile for the system which takes into account color, lighting, and other variables specific to the camera location. Color profiles are not necessary with cameras that provide auto white balance.

NOTE: Color profiles are applied to the image taken by the camera, not to the camera preview.

Set up the monitor. See “Set up the Monitor Colors” above.

NOTE: Some cameras create a better color profile by NOT clicking Auto Adjust. To see what works best with your camera and particular lighting situation, create a profile using Auto Adjust and another not using the Auto Adjust.

Wait for the Auto Adjustments to complete, then click the Next button.

Step 2 of 5: Capture Color Chart
