Place CutArt on a Different Layer |
---|
Info |
---|
CutArt are simple shapes and design elements that can be cut, drawn, or Debossed. Traditionally, CutArts can only be placed on the top layer. This lesson shows how to retrace a CutArt onto a Different Layer other than the top layer. You can also use these same steps to place a LetterMat, TTF, Deboss, Pen or Crease object onto a different layer other than the Top Layer.

| CutArt™ are simple shapes and design elements created by Wizard that can be added to designs. CutArts can be applied to your current design and edited, such as resizing and rotating. They can be Cut, Debossed, Penned or cut on Vinyl. See: Add CutArt Function |

title | LetterMat Definition |
---|
| The LetterMat™ fonts are specialized fonts designed specifically for the Wizard FrameShop software. Single Line Fonts: The letters are formed with Single Lines, not drawn as the outlines of shapes. Single line fonts can only be Debossed or drawn with the Pen. Outline Fonts: The Outline fonts display the shapes of the letters as outlines with only a slight distinction between the thin and thick strokes. These fonts can be Debossed, Penned or Cut. See: Add Font Function See: LetterMat Properties |

---|
| The True Type Font (TTF) is an additional source of fonts, separate from LetterMats, that can be loaded into the Design Editor to Cut, Deboss, or Pen. The True Type Font (TTF) format was created to work between both Apple (Mac) and Microsoft (Windows) and could be deciphered by most printers by default. The TTFs contain the mathematical outlines of each character in the font. The True Type Fonts are located in the /Windows/Fonts directory. Note: TTFs have not been tested by Wizard and results may vary. Feel free to experiment. See: Add Font Function See: TTF Properties |

Place a V-Groove |
---|
Make sure that the Opening is selected. Click on the Openings tab. Click the Add V-Groove button. Enter 1" for the Offset value and click OK.

---|
| The Offset button creates a displacement copy of the selected object a parallel distance away as specified in the Offset Revealfield. See: Offset Function in Trace Offset Rules in Trace:Enclosed Objects: Arcs and Curves greater than 180 Degrees use the same rules as closed objects. Unenclosed Objects: For unenclosed objects the arrow buttons depend on the direction of travel of the vector segments, starting from the line’s start point. The Left < button offsets Clockwise and Right > button offsets Counter-Clockwise. If it doesn’t Offset in the expected direction, click Undo and click the other Offset Direction. |

| |
Pull down the Bottom of the V-Groove and let it snap to the bottom Horizontal Guideline that we placed. Make sure you are pulling the V-Groove down and not just moving it. Release the mouse to place it.

| A Guide is a Red line marker which can direct the motion or positioning of objects. The sides and centers of Objectscan snap to the Guide Lines. Click on the Ruler around the design and drag toward the center to place a Guide. Select the Guide and click Properties to edit the position or drag it where desired. See: Guide Lines Properties |

Comparison |
---|
You can see how much we changed the design when you compare it to the original version. You can also run through these same steps to place a LetterMat, TTF, Deboss, Pen or Crease item or other object onto a layer other than the top layer. |
