How to Make a Custom Inset Design

  • There are several Inset Templates currently available:

    • #911: Rectangle Inset

    • #912: Oval Inset

    • #913: Octagon Inset

    • #914: Half Rnd Inset

    • #915: Fr Stair Inset

  • These instructions will walk you through making your own custom inset design using the other templates available.

  • Click New Mat Design on the FrameShop Main Page.

  • Click Cancel on the New Openings Screen.

  • On the Openings Tab, bring the template #101: Rectangle template onto the Editor.

  • Click on the Properties Tab to edit it.

  • Enter the desired size for the #101: Rectangle opening.

  • Center the #101: Rectangle.

  • Bring over another opening using the desired Template for the Inset.

  • We will be using #613: Fr Stair Top.

  • Resize it to the desired Width of the Inset.

  • We will be overlaying the center of this opening with the bottom of the #101: Rectangle, so you will need to make the Height twice as large as desired.

  • Set the Positioning Toggle to align to the Bottom Layer.

  • Click on the #101: Rectangle to select it.

  • Right-Click on the #101: Rectangle and select New Horizontal Guide > Bottom.

  • This will place a Horizontal Guide on the Bottom of the #101: Rectangle.

  • Move the #613: Fr Stair Top so that it snaps to the Middle Vertical Border Line and to the Horizontal Guide Line.

  • Note: You can also place other Guides Vertically if you do not want to Center the Inset.

  • Now we will Merge the two openings together.

  • Select both openings and click the Group Selection button.

  • The openings will merge where they overlap.

  • The Custom Inset design is finished.

  • No labels
