The #106 Mixed Template

  • The #106 Mixed template allows the user to select a different template for each layer.

  • Use the Template Properties to edit the individual proprietary adjustments available for the template objects.

Templates Definition
  • Templates are specialized parametric shape generators created by Wizard that can be cut or applied with the non-blade cartridges.

  • This example shows the Mixed Template using template 606 Arrow Hd Sm on the top layer and template 604 Taos on the bottom layer.

#106 Mixed Template Properties

  • Place the #106 Mixed Template on the Editor.

  • Click on the #106 Mixed Template on the Editor.

  • Click on the Properties Tab to edit the individual proprietary adjustments available for this template opening.

  • Optionally, Right-Click on the template opening and select Properties to open the Template Properties.

Template Opening

Template Opening

  • Change the Template with the Template Name and Number Button.

  • Click Template Name and Number button.

  • The Template Library opens.

  • Select a different template from the Template Library.

  • The template will be updated to the new template.

Label

  • Enter the desired text in the Label field.

  • The label will be displayed on the Template opening.

Dimensions

  • Enter the Template Width dimension. 

  • Enter the Template Height dimension.

Lock or Unlock Size

  • Click the Unlock icon toggle to Lock the size of the current template opening. 

  • Click the Locked icon toggle to Unlock the size of the current template opening.

Lock Object Size
  • Use the Lock/Unlock feature to prevent the size of the opening from being changed by accidentally dragging the control corners with the mouse in the Design Editor.

X and Y Position Fields

  • Use the X/Y fields to move objects to specific Horizontal/Vertical coordinates.

    • *Lines shown for illustration.

  • Enter the new X position to move the selected object Horizontally.

  • Enter the new Y to move the selected object Vertically.

X and Y Position
  • The X Position field is used to set or display the Horizontal position of the selected object. 

  • The Y Position field is used to set or display the Vertical position of the selected object.

Rotation Entry Field

  • Enter the desired Degree of Rotation in the Rotation field.

  • The currently selected Template will pivot from the center point.

Template Options Reveal Tab

Number of Layers

  • Enter the number of Layers desired.

Layers for this template opening. 

  • Each Layer entry is identified by a layer number.

  • The topmost layer is labelled Top.

Reveal

  • Enter the desired Reveal amount for each layer in the Reveal field. 

  • The topmost layer is labelled Top.

Cartridge Icon

  • Click on the Cartridge Icon and select the desired Cartridge for the current Layer

  • NOTE: Not all Cartridges are available in this scenario.

  • To use a Non-Blade Cartridge, see “Availability of Other Cartridges” below.

Reverse Bevel

  • Click the RB Button to make all of the layers a Reverse Bevel

  • Click the RB Checkbox on the desired layer to make only that layer a Reverse Bevel.  

Reverse Bevel Opening
  • The Reverse Bevel Opening is created by cutting into the matboard surface with the blade angled at 45°/52°, thereby slanting the bevel under the matboard surface, hiding the matboard core from the front.

Template Options Parameters

  • Use the Template Options Parameters tab to edit the parameter attributes for the selected template. 

  • The 106 Mixed Template allows a different template to be assigned to each layer, so these attributes are directly related to the layer selected. 

  • Select the desired layer to edit from the Params for Layer field, and edit the Parameters for that template. 

  • The design reflects the changes immediately.

  • See Template Parameter Map below for information on what the specific fields adjust.

Parameters
  • The Parameters are a set of specified variable characteristics related to the selected object that can be modified through the accompanying fields in the associated Design screen.

Template Parameter Map

  • The Template Parameter Map displays a diagram describing each parameter field for the current template.

  • Click on the desired Template opening.

  • Click the Parameters tab on the Properties Tab.

  • Click on the Template Parameter Map button (displayed as [?]) on the Parameters tab.

  • The Template Parameter Map will display what each parameter field adjusts for in the currently selected template layer of the 106 Mixed.

  • The Parameters are a set of specified variable characteristics related to the selected object that can be modified through the accompanying fields in the associated Design screen.

Assigning a Template to Each Layer

  • Click the Reveals tab and select the desired Layer.

  • Click the Template Name Number button to open the Template Library.

  • Click on the desired Template.

  • The new template will be placed on the selected layer.

  • NOTE: Not all templates are available for use with this template.

Availability of Other Cartridges

  • You cannot directly select a Non-Blade Cartridge for a Template Layer.

  • You must place the Non-Blade Cartridge object first and then edit it to display the desired Template shape.

  • For this example, place a Deboss object onto the Editor.

  • With the Deboss selected click the Properties tab.

  • Click the Template Number and Name button.

  • The Template Library will open.

  • Select a different template SHAPE for the Deboss

    • Templates not available for this function are not displayed.  

  • The Deboss shape will change to this template shape.

  • Do not click the Change to Template button, as that will change the Deboss to the Template instead of changing the Deboss shape.
