New Openings Screen: Single

There are three tabs to select from: SingleMulti, and Array. Stay on the Single tab of the New Openings Screen

The Single tab is for creating and cutting one opening. Input the desired dimensions for the opening, set the number of layers, click OK and the opening will be added to your design.

Opening Size and Details

If you are entering the Opening size first, the program automatically calculates the Outside size when tabbing out of the Borders field.  

If you are entering the Outside dimension first, the program automatically calculates the Opening size when tabbing out of the Borders field.

Opening Size

Width 

Enter the opening Width dimension. 
            
Height

Enter the opening Height dimension.             

Sizes Button

The Sizes button displays a list of Recent and Standard sizes.

Swap Button

The Swap button switches the values between the width and height fields.

Set the Default to Edit the Opening Size First

The default setting for the Opening Size First can be set in the Admin > Defaults section.

Borders

Enter the desired Borders sizes for the bottom, top and side mat border widths. 

Set the Border Order Defaults

The default setting for the Border Order Defaults can be set in the Admin > Defaults section.

Set the Border Defaults

The default setting for the Borders can be set in the Admin > Editor section.

Separate Left and Right Borders

To enter separate left and right borders, Click on the Sides field name to expand it to the Left and Right border fields. 

The Left and Right border fields can now be edited separately. 

To return it to the combined Sides field, click on the Left field name to return it to the single Sides field.

Outside Size

If you are entering the Opening size first, the program automatically calculates the Outside size when tabbing out of the Borders field.  

If you are entering the Outside dimension first, the program automatically calculates the Opening size when tabbing out of the Borders field. 

Width

Enter the outside Width dimension. 

Height

Enter the outside Height dimension.

Sizes Button

The Sizes button displays a list of Recent and Standard sizes.

The Swap button switches the values between the width and height fields.

Template and Properties

Select the desired template and its properties.

Select Template

Click on the template thumbnail under template design.

The Template Library opens. 

Note there are several pages of templates. Click on one of the numbered tabs or scroll through the list to see the other templates. 

Click on the desired template thumbnail to select it.

The new template is displayed. 

Layers

Enter the number of Layers, the reveal value for each layer. 

Select the Reverse Bevel checkbox or the RB? button to make the layer(s) reverse bevel if desired.

Set the Default Number of Layers

Set the default setting for the number of layers in the Admin > Editor section.

Set the Default Reveal Value

Set the default Reveal Value in the Admin > Defaults section.

Cartridge Selection

Click on the Cartridge Icon. 

Select the desired cartridge for this layer.  

Note that not all cartridges are available in all scenarios

For instance, you cannot select the Deboss Cartridge for a template from the New Openings Screen. You would need to take the design into the Editor, create a Deboss opening, then select a template shape for it on the Properties Tab

Cut or Bring to the Editor

Cut the mat or bring it into the Editor for further editing.

Cut Button

Click the Cut button on the New Openings Screen to bring the design to the Cutting Preview to Cut.

Bring to Editor

Alternatively, Click on the OK button to bring the design into the Design Editor for further editing. 

Reset Button

Click the Reset button to clear the existing design in order to create a different one.

The previous design has been cleared and it is ready for the new design to be entered.
