Troubleshooting the Backup/Overcut Display

  • Have a cut design design displayed on the Cut Preview. This feature is only available for the bladed cartridges.

  • Using one of the zoom buttons, zoom in to the desired section of the project where you are having issues cutting.

  • Make sure that the Green Backups and Red Overcuts lines are visible.

 Exterior Backup Definition

The Exterior Backup controls where the blade plunges into the matboard on the exterior cut. 

 Exterior Overcut Definition

The Exterior Overcut controls where the blade retracts from the matboard on the exterior cuts.

 Interior Backup Definition

The Interior Backup controls where the blade plunges into the fallout on interior cuts.

 Interior Overcut Definition

The Interior Overcut controls where the blade retracts from the fallout on interior cuts.

  • With the cursor hovering over one of the Backups or Overcuts, the status bar displays the actual physical length of the selected Backup or Overcut.

  • This value will be the sum of the corresponding user configuration setting and the factory configuration setting.

  • The cursor will turn into an arrow with a question mark.

  • Click on the desired overcut or backup line that you are having trouble with.

The Exterior Overcut controls where the blade retracts from the matboard on the exterior cuts.

 Interior Backup Definition

The Interior Backup controls where the blade plunges into the fallout on interior cuts.

 Interior Overcut Definition

The Interior Overcut controls where the blade retracts from the fallout on interior cuts.

  • The appropriate Cartridge Tab is selected and the Configuration Field associated to the line clicked on will be highlighted.

  • Now you can easily increase or decrease the value displayed, depending upon whether the item selecting is cutting too long or cutting too short.

  • Click OK and recut the design, adjusting the Configurations until you achieve the desired result.

  • To adjust, click plus/minus on the desired field about five times.

  • Click OK and do another test cut.

  • Continue making adjustments until the desired outcome is achieved.

It will open the Configurations screen with the Cartridge selected and the specific Backup or Overcut field selected.
